Adam says that both of Lynette's parents immigrated to the United States from Italy: "My wife, both her parents, born in Italy. Both came here as teenagers."

Drew explains in depth why he goes by "Dr. Drew" instead of "Dr. Pinsky" (in response to a caller who questioned his credentials):

Drew: I'm an internist, I taught internal medicine, then I became Director of Medicine at a psychiatric hospital for ten years. I became an addictionologist. I run a large addiction recovery program at a freestanding psychiatric hospital and I practice internal medicine every day. [...] The reason I use my first name is, when I started doing radio twenty years ago, I thought I was doing community service. I did it for free for ten years, and I didn't want anyone to think I was trying to develop a practice, or use the radio to put my name out there. No one even knew I did it. So I didn't use my last name. [...] In the world I'm Dr. Pinsky; on the radio, I use something totally different. It's two different lives.

It's unclear why he goes by his middle name instead of his first (David).

Adam and Drew are going to be on an episode of "Dawson's Creek". Adam still hasn't read the script.

Adam: Drew and I are doing "Dawson's Creek". I'm not sure why we're doing "Dawson's Creek" but it sounds like fun.

Drew: Fun, yeah.

Adam: Yeah. Drew and I and uh...

Drew: It's clever. It's us at a college gig, and it captures a little bit of the look and feel of it.

Adam: And what's the problem?

Drew: Um... Everybody starts sort of airing... all the characters start airing their dirty laundry. Particularly this one relationship that... this girl's trying to break up with a guy, but she idealizes him, thinks he's the greatest thing in the world. But he's so perfect, she has to sabotage.

Adam: Well, how much stuff do we have to memorize? Fair amount?

Drew: Most of this.

Adam: They got cue cards on those shows, right?

Drew: I'm sure, yeah. It's just like a talk show.

Drew has finally seen The Shining. Not only this, but he made a Shining reference during the show:

Adam: I would not go in there. I don't care what went on in there. If semen... if I saw it coming up over the top of the door...

Drew: Like, if it was like, like The Shining with the elevator... [starts laughing]

Adam: The elevator doors open, and, just, semen comes pouring... [addressing Anderson] Yes, he saw The Shining. He saw The Shining.

Anderson: When did...? I was gonna say, "You can't... you cannot talk about The Shining."

Drew: I did. I saw it. I saw it.

Anderson: Well, why don't you talk about it?

Adam: He made a... He did. He did.

Drew: I don't know where you were.

Adam: The day after, he saw it.

Drew: Yeah.

Heaven knows what Adam meant by "the day after." Later in the show:

Anderson: Drew's right.

Adam: All right, Drew's right. Look, he saw The Shining. I'm still reeling.

Drew: And I've gone out and looked for Raging Bull.

Adam: Oh! He's not seen Raging Bull!

[Anderson plays creepy Shining music.]

Adam: Oooh. The Shining. Anderson, he's not seen Raging Bull either.

[Anderson plays the "unacceptable" drop.]

Adam: That's all it is.

Anderson says that assistant producer Lauren answers Loveline e-mail daily:

Caller: Well, I'll tell ya, Adam, this is absolutely true. I sent ya an e-mail, and I didn't think you'd get it, 'cause it went to loveline@earthlink.net. But, honest to God...

Adam: Yeah. I didn't know we had e-mail. Do we have e-mail?

Drew: That's his site.

Caller: Well, anyway, Adam...

Anderson: Lauren answers it daily.

Drew: Okay.

Adam: Oh, she does? Oh, okay.

Drew: All right.

Producer Ann had been known to answer Loveline's e-mail in the past.
