Did anyone mention this? I knew he was mentioning he 'thought' it was happening, but when did this become official??!

What are you talking about?
I missed something, please clue me in on what you heard, I just turned off the show before they said all goodbye stuff, what happened, what did they say?
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:08 AM
Adam just thanked Bryan, saying it was his last day.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:09 AM
we'll miss you and the blog good buddy
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:11 AM
This sucks. Why the hell did this happen? You'd think Bryan would have piped up about getting a better job offer or something. Hope that's the case, man!
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:12 AM
This hurt Hashmeer like a thumb tack.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:13 AM
Oh, man, that's fucked up. From what Bryan has said on the blog, he wasn't leaving either, so they made a change.
That is fucked up, I bet it was Adam's doing to. Adam is a moron sometimes, I bet it was his doing.
They did have him training his replacement, just like I said, that is one of the most cowardly things in the world for a company to do. Really, really sad, Bryan was a nice guy, and always got them the calls they wanted. It’s not his fault that Adam and Drew are so retarded that they don’t realize they are attracting all the same types of calls, because of they way they do the show.
If they want different calls, then they are going to have to change the way they do things. All they do is say, don’t do that, get therapy, you’re stupid if you don’t. Call up to ask about douching? They’ll voyeuristically want to know if you’re molested. I think they get off on it.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:13 AM
woah!
someone needs to make a little clip of adam saying that.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:14 AM
For Christ's sake. I walked out of the room to grab an ice cream cone, and I missed it. If you’re reading this my man, good luck with your future endeavors.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:15 AM
Masteel: You are saying crazy things. I think you need to take some time with this. It is hard on all of us.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:16 AM
wow, big shock, well i just want to say thanks for the memories Bryan.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:28 AM
I wonder if it had anything to do with the blog on the site?
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:34 AM
If it did, then they might have told him he can’t talk about it on here, a confidentiality thing maybe, so who knows if he’ll even be able to tell us what this is all about.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:35 AM
What are they gonna sue him? All will be answered when the Blog is posted.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:38 AM
Anderson reads this site, so hopefully he'll pipe up here, and let us know what's what.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:39 AM
If I were fired from a job I wouldn't stick around and finish my last shift, so assuming that Bryan screened tonight's show, it makes sense that he is leaving on his own terms. Also, if he were being fired, I doubt Adam would make mention of his departure on the air, as it would likely be a touchy subject. Maybe he found something better.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:40 AM
If it is the case that they didn't tell him until just now, that's bullshit. But if he's not posting it on the blog out of respect for the guys, or whoever--I think that's best. Either way, it sucks. Adam seemed pleasant about saying good bye to him, but who knows--it could all be an act on his part.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:42 AM
If I were fired from a job I wouldn't stick around and finish my last shift,
—Kevin U.
I respectfully disagree Kevin. If you are a professional, then yes, you DO stick around and do your last shift. There are many, many, many considerations to why someone would do that, but burning bridges is one of them, and to be able to have your next potential employer call up and get a good reference, saying that the individual is a consummate professional, is something you want to have.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:47 AM
I'm just saying this scenario is unlikely:
Employer: We won't be needing you to work here anymore in the future.... except for today.
Employee: Sure, I'll stick around and work today, even though you don't want me to ever come back.
If someone is fired, they are generally not asked to stay and work one last time.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:51 AM
In a job like mine, no show on the last day. In a real job, yea you do.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:53 AM
Yeah, I understand that Kevin, but there are other ways that could happen. He could have not even been there, and they could have just been saying it out of respect. Anderson probably reminded Adam in the headphones, or Adam wouldn’t even have said anything, I’ll lay money on that one.
I hope he found something better, but the evidence doesn’t point to that, all the evidence points to something else. Adam being angry about calls all the time lately, saying, “WHO’S THE PHONE SCREENER TONIGHT!”, them training someone, Bryan saying he expects the axe to fall, but who knows.

As much of a drunk asshole as I was last night (sorry Jar Con!), I am actually a nice guy even though I am questioning the reasoning behind the attachment to Bryan. Anybody? The guy had a blog here for, what, 3 or 4 weeks? Entertaining, yes. But the blind loyalty exhibited would indicate a relationship either beyond what was made available to the public, or a completely imaginatory grandiose relationship created based on the thimble full of attention he paid to us by simple being something connected to the show.
Please do fill us in if you can...

"Where have all the [screeners] gone?"
What ever happened to Ziggy? Did Ziggy even exist? Is Anderson Ziggy? Is Ziggy the Walrus?
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 1:07 AM
i don't think that he would want to stiff the show and not work his last night even if he had gotten abrubtly fired. like he said in his send off this is only a 2.5 hour job, he still has his full time dayjob, whatever that might be, so losing this job wouldn't be then end to his world.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 1:07 AM
Well, we have a blog posting. No explination but I didn't really expect one. Either way, it seems like he left on a good note, so good luck to you with the day job, Bryan! We enjoyed the blog as much as you enjoyed posting it! Gonna miss having it around, for sure!
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 1:18 AM
The Blog has gone the way of the Journal, which has gone the way of the dodo. The phrase of which, has gone the way of the dodo, indeed. Another piece of Loveline sploozer history, for future generations of sploozer to come and ask in wonder, "So phone screener Bryan used to post here?" And so it was.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 2:00 AM
I'll agree that it's pointless for anyone to make assumptions on exactly why Bryan's gone. Sure, he alluded to the fact that he was training his "replacement" and how he'd been expecting the ax for months, but unless he posts this is all idle speculation. So Bryan, if you're not bound by a non-disclosure agreement let's have the goods. You can strike a deal with a Vanity Fair journalist a la Deep Throat or spill the beans on Larry King. In all seriousness, best of luck and I hope you parted on good terms- thanks for the blog. Even if it got you fired, it was well worth it (for us). ;)
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 5:38 AM
You will be missed, Bryan. Mahalo and best of luck in all your future endeavors.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 6:33 AM
What!? NO! It was so young! I never got to call in and tell Bryan that I liked his blog! Nooooooooooooo!
Good luck Bryan.
Any future projects like this? We need our behind-the-scenes look at the show :'(

10:26 pm:
I have a feeling the entries will be few and far between for a couple days here as I help train Patricia. She's good people and will hopefully make a solid addition to the team. As for "training my replacement" (as some of the forum posters have suggested), believe me, I've been expecting the axe to fall for months now. You guys should start a pool on when I'll get canned. Each person takes a week
Who won?
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 7:19 AM
If you are reading this then good luck with whatever you do next buddy
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 9:50 AM
No explination but I didn't really expect one.

I would say it sounded like an explanation to me... didn't want to deal with the time demands. Two and a half hours is a fair amount of time. Sounds like he just quit, that's fine. Not to repeat the word "endeavors" but Bryan, good luck with your future endeavors.

You’ll need to learn to sort through that sort of double speak a little better if you plan to maintain your sanity in a relationship. He was non-committal either way, with his statements.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 10:25 AM
Not looking at porn and beating off, I can tell you that!
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 12:02 PM
If you are a professional, then yes, you DO stick around and do your last shift.
In IT (and any other industry where large-scale damage can be done by an employee), it's standard that you are notified of termination, immediately escorted out, and some time later be allowed to return to gather any personal items under supervision.
Even in my small development shop, we politely notify unproductive contractors that "Today is your last day" and escort them out, and all of their accounts are disabled before they even hit the sidewalk. Harsh, but I don't see another way around it. Too many guys like this TLC member who, as Adam aptly describes, "does the work of ten guys and the boss fired me because he's jealous."
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 1:42 PM
Only one thing to say, this fucking sucks.

That seems a little odd. Why don't they just have them gather their personal things right then and there?
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 3:39 PM
To make an example to the others.
Friday, June 3, 2005 at 4:07 PM
Do they parade the guy around to make sure all the other employees see?

I bet they do that while spanking him with a newspaper and yelling "BAD TECHNICIAN! BAD!"

Most times when people get fired from ups, they are taken out in cuffs. Stealing is probably the biggest reason for union members to be fired. Management, fired or quitting(even with a 2 week notice), get to collect their things and are walked out that day. No return. Somebody might steal company secrets or some bullshit. Acutally, they are probabaly worried about retrobution, because they are always stabbing each other in the back.

That seems a little odd. Why don't they just have them gather their personal things right then and there?
If it's feasible then that's done, but if it involves anything more than a few items, they have to return for the items. This is based on the the same philosophy as a mandatory waiting period on hangun purchases. Being fired is a humiliating and highly emotional experience - for most people, the office is a home away from home and a second family of sorts. After a few days, the fired employee comes in for an exit interview (usually off-hours so they do not interact with former co-workers), sometimes confronts the person(s) who wanted them fired under the supervision of a Human Resources person, and cleans out their desk.
In my time in the software business, I've seen fired people try to hack into the network to destroy data, attempt to infect the internal network with viruses, and attempt a Denial of Service attack on company servers.

Bryan,
Good Luck with what is to come next for you. I am sad to see you go, but sometimes a change is good. I know that you like posting anonymously but have you thought about creating a not so anonymous name to post under so we can hear about your future sucess's
