I'm reading a book right now that is blowing my fucking mind! It's a novel. It's creepy, and unique and scary and so FUCKING original! The author even mentioned Dr. Drew and Adam in it at one point, and I was like...whoa! (Not that that alone makes it a great novel or anything. I was getting really into the book and then the author mentioned them very briefly and it made me lqtm.) After I'm done reading this book, I'm going to make ZT read it (if he hasn't already). I want to know if he think's the author who wrote it is a jenkem huffing faggot or a genius. I'm not done with the book yet...I've got about 500 pages left...but I think this guy is a genius!

ZT-In

Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 10:44 AM

No! There's nothing "Christian" about it. Just a creepy, scary, totally original book. It's kind of like a story within a story. It's like nothing you've ever read.

Zeet, I need you to read this book and tell me what you think. I want your take. You're going to read this book if I have to buy the damn thing myself and mail it to Colorado.

I looked it up and it actually looks really interesting. I'm gonna try to find it next time I'm at the bookstore if I remember.

chuck palahniuk is doing that putting-the-book-next-to-a-mirror-to-read thing too with his Invisible Monster revamp.

I just finished jd salinger's Nine Stories. His writing is good good good. Gonna read william faulkner's sanctuary.

ZT:

Do you like to read?

Do you like disturbing stories?

Do you like stories that make you think?

Do you want to be entertained?

Do you have ten to fifteen dollars to spare on a book?

Do you not look forward to a big long, lengthy argument/debate/circle jerk over this book?

Are you honestly telling me you DO NOT want to argue with Stella over this book? She's planning on buying the book.

Do the following quotes mean nothing to you?

A rollicking Pynchonesque oddity, a Nabokovian linguistic obsession, and a Borgesian unreality. House of Leaves jumps and skips and plays with genre-wrecking abandon, postmodern panache, and an obsessively imaginative scope that absolutely shames most books on the market today. -San Francsisco Examiner and Chronicle

One of the most ambitious, complicated, and eagerly anticipated literary debuts of the year. House of Leaves is like no other novel you'll ever read. -Newsweek

[Its] chills spark vertigo, its erudition brings on dislocating giddiness, House of Leaves is dizzying in every respect... Entertainment Weekly

So you're going to purchase this book, yes?

acm

Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 6:48 PM

Is there poop? I'll buy it if there's poop jokes, even if they're Nabokovian poop jokes.

so my boss sent out an e-mail asking for volunteers to go work in "north central" for two weeks and everybody thought he meant north central valley in california. So i volunteered thinking it would only be a 3 hour drive tops. Today i find out that he meant north central part of the country. So now i have to book a flight and hotel in chicago.

house of leaves is one of my favorite books.

i finally got a full color hard cover for my birthday the other year.

i saw a guy on the tram reading it once and i spent the whole time trying to make eye contact so we could talk about it but had no luck.

ERMAGAWD!!!!!

Fuck, are there any books that even compare to this book?!?!?

I really loved "Under The Dome" by Stephen King, by the way. Great story and great ending. It's one of his best.
