So I've found myself listening to 20-30 minutes a night of the show and on the nights where Drew's cast from whatever show he's pimping for VH1 isn't there (which is often) it's getting bad in that room. Last night was definitely a low. They had that ditz from millionaire matchmaker on and she was taking questions with zero challenge or input from Drew? WTF? DAG gets banned from the show, but a reality hack on 3rd tier cable and her two underlings with corporate titles are good gets? Nice work Ann Wilkins-Ingold. We've come a long way from Alec Baldwin, Robert Downey Jr. or even Jeff Probst.

On the one hand, I agree, but on the other hand, Stryker is long gone and Adam is doing occasional guest apperances. It's not as bad as it could be has been.

like staying in a relationship that's been rotton long since?

i love dr. drew. acp is something i'm doing out of habit.
i listen to the new lovelines i DL the very next day. i save up the acp's and listen to them in batches. i'm a few weeks behind.
Monday, January 25, 2010 at 11:17 PM
at this point i feel like it's a chore to listen to acp.
Monday, January 25, 2010 at 11:24 PM
Same.
I don't like the liveshows he's doing now, where you can hear the audience's reaction. I prefer the crisp sounding of a studio recording.

this is about where I'm at, but I enjoy acp more I think. based on bookings/Adam it seems like they have about 4 good hours a week in them--the semi live show and then a good guest and a half. I'd rather have them do 3 or 4 days of podcasts than random c-listers or whatever. If they truly are trying to take it to the next level why not move your schedule around so Patton can do more than 34 minutes?
I love Drew too, but it's like he just assumes Loveline will always be there and it's OK for it to suck when it seems like someone with 3 ounces of creativity to make that show sing. He's only really "on" when he has to take the lead. Drew can't handle guests--all the more reason to get some regulars on that have proven themselves or just don't have a guest until you get a 2nd banana.

i love the drew solo efforts, and wish the show would be a little more dr. drew live. have gail saltz on there or jill what's-her-name from sex rehab phone in instead of van praagh, tera patrick, or the millionaire matchmaker types.
i think he's uncomfortable doing the show by himself. maybe a little insecure.
anderson seems to be a force as far as keeping the show from being more educational. when drew starts talking about medicine, he starts snoring. he has his moments, but i like him less and less as time passes, especially since he does fewer drops than in the good ol' days.

excellent point. the lack of drops is one of the sadder aspects and anderson act is tired. I turned on him about the time he started doing the phone commericals. The only drop I've heard in ages is the mormon drop.

I read through some of his book. big shocker--it's terrible. I like how in his world girls giving it up to him is some sort of badge of shame that when revealed is devastating. nice self esteem buddy.

too soon mandee, let's just say he's the haitian earthquake of guests...that's more respectful.

In his defense, he played the drill sergeants drop last night, and threw in a couple "you're fat"s tonight. I also seem to recall him playing the "vicondin/codiene/heroin" drop sometime recently, but I can't remember if that was tonight, last night, or some other night.

I remember exchanging a myspace (lol myspace) message with Drew a couple years ago in wake of Adam's departure; DAG hadn't been on in quite awhile, and we'd noticed (I'm not sure if it was here or among my Loveline-listening IRL friends) a significant drop in drops (pardon the pun), especially anyone ones involving DAG, or alluding to Carolla remotely. Drew said that DAG had indeed been blacklisted (again, pardon the pun) by the producers, and any "Carolla-era drops" were essentially out the window thanks to the producers/Westwood 1.

there did seem to be more drops than what i've come to expect last night.

Wait isn't that Jimmy Pardo's Podcast? I like that guy too, he's pretty funny, not Adam funny but he definitely does the trick when Donny gets too high and forgets to post an episode on time. But I'm confused, I thought his podcast was free?
Also, Hi Mandee!! Cheer up girlfriend, I'll always luv ya

i challenge you to listen to last night's loveline and finding anything interesting or funny he said.
he's a terribly overrated cable celebrity.

i'm listening to last nights show as i type this, and i did smile when he said that he wished there were pro abortion commercials. i agree, but it's not exactly funny.
anyone interested in listening to this? i'll upload/post it if someone wants to DL.

Do you guys remember directly when Adam left they were "auditioning" for a new co-host? [I put it in quotes because we all know they were fucking with us based on who they ended up with ugh] Steve-O, Joel McHale I think, my mind escapes me at the moment but Daniel Tosh was a prime candidate I believe he co-hosted for like 3 or 4 nights and everyone here gushed about him, including greymatters and me, and perhaps even plurry. Maybe plurry stoodby his distaste for the guy, but if you go back to those November 2005 (fuck has it nearly been 5 years already?) shows, they were pretty damn good. My point is I've always loved Tosh since, and Tosh.0 really is hilarious, funnier than The Soup even.
I'd like to listen to it plurry if you don't mind.

i guess i just don't get his appeal. never have. obviously, he's liked enough to warrant giving him his own show.
download will be available in 15 minutes.

Loveline may or may not be in a sad state at the moment, but Emma decided to Brit it up tonight by calling in to confess to Seth McFarlane that he's on her "celebrities I'm allowed to do" list.
Monday, February 8, 2010 at 12:13 AM
ew seth mcfarlane. more like seth mcFARTlane. amirite or amirite?
