that was funny, but weak, as most of john stewart's show, and liberal's arguments in genertal, are.

stewart makes a big deal about the show being a year old, but that is irrelevant. the "war against christmas" (christianity) is not a new phenomenon. it is part of an ongoing effort to eliminate christianity from all areas of american life. o'reilly used the clip as an example of this ongoing effort, and as such it is valid, even though it may be a year old. especially since it is likely that comedy central showed the episode as a rerun this year.

stewart acted incredulous at the idea that o'reilly would make the claim that stewart's little "6 second" joke was a war on christmas. of course that was not what o'reilly was saying. his little joke is not the issue, it's the larger ongoing effort of which his skit is an example.

stewart made a big deal out of using the term "merry christmas" rather than "happy holidays". once again, he makes a joke and acts like he made a solid point, but it does not hold up when challenged. it's not simply using "happy holidays" in place of christmas, i have done that myself. it's fine when you are refering to the holiday season as a whole, but when people make a conscious decision to use happy holidays to eliminate the word CHRISTmas, it becomes an attack on christmas.

regarding stewart's little dig about o'reilly (conservatives) thinking felize navidad (hispanics) are too prevelant, i say: shocking. it's shocking that a whiny, blowhard, liberal would try to classify conservatives as a bunch of racists. why not go back to the same tired playbook and call them anti-poor, or a party of white rednecks. stewart sounds like howard dean to me.

I was brought up Catholic, although I distrust any religous organization, my moral values are based on Christianity. The "liberal leftist" point of view to me is just crazy and dangerous, as they make it easy for the people who want to do us harm. Here are some common liberal pussy issues...

1. "The war on Iraq was a mistake (illegal)." - Saddam violated the cease-fire agreement imposed after the 1st Gulf war, making it "legal" for the US to use military force against him.

2. "The Bush administration LIED to us about WMD's." - There have been a number of official inquiries and extensive investigations from independent commitees done, and all have said they did not find any evidence of Bush "lying" about WMD's. He was acting on faulty CIA intel that WMD's were present, which by the way was also said by the British and Russian intelligence.

3. "We should pull out now." - worst thing we can do. The country would be taken over by terrorists.

4. "We should have talked more and made a deal with Saddam, or the terrorists. Military action should never be used." - typical pussy-liberal thinking. In their elitist, theoritical world, everything is solved by diplomacy, all people will listen to reason, all cultures are the same, CANNOT JUDGE!!! In the real world, some people/culture/religion only respond to force.

5. "America is BAD, imperialistic, an evil country." - they love to hate the US.

6. "The ACLU will loves NAMBLA, but hates the Boy Scouts." - these ultra liberal pussies are so DANGEROUS because they consider their theoretical concepts of interpreting the Costitution above the safety of real people, in this case, children. To them, their interpretation of "free speech" is more important than kids being molested, raped or abused.

Last point, if you ask them what they would have done different than what our government has done, they have no real sane answer. They would rather just bitch and complain, and point at mistakes, than solve the problem in a real and practical way.

Not just Bush. The Downing Street Memo almost certainly proves that this war was more than just the usual government incompetence. I suspect in about 30 years we'll start getting documents that confirm much more grave issues. i.e. the USS Maine, Operation Northwoods*, the attack on the Maddox, and the McCollum Memo*

Is that right? Anyways, I don't think open borders are necessarily the answer, but I'd certainly rather have that than programs like operation wetback.

The Supreme Court didn't declare that Bush won. The Supreme Court DID declare that all investigations into the validity of the election had to stop. It's not a conspiracy theory. There's not a 100% chance that Bush fairly won, and the fact that we're not certain shows the value we place in democracy.

1. Bush is soft on the border. He has done NOTHING but talk about border security, but no ACTION has brought us to this much chaos on the border. He needs to bitch-slap Vicente Fox, but for some reason, he won't move on securing our borders. What a pussy.

2. Bush is impotent about controlling the gas price gouging by these oil companies foreign and domestic. Hands are tainted? And what's up with being so cuddly with the towelheads in Saudi Arabia?

3. Bush's stem cell research ban is so stupid it's unbelievable. I hope these politicians who are against it get some kind of terminal cancer, and then we'll see.
