Monday, October 10, 2011 at 4:29 AM hi jizz! so sorry to hear about brittany. if it is auto-immune, go directly to a rheumatologist. a simple blood test checking her "sed rate" and her anti-nuclear antibodies. the sed rate test checks the level of inflammation in her body and the a.n.a. test is the standard test to check for lupus. if she has lupus or another similar auto-immune disorder, the typical treatment is prednisone & paquenil (hydroxychloroquine). paquenil is generally used as an anti-malaria drug, but it works for lupus. i'm so proud of you for sticking by her through all of this, but i'm sorry that you both have to endure such trials at such an early stage in life. with proper treatment, she will get better and be able to have a more normal life. i wish you both the best. —pookie |
