ok, you're finally 18. now you can leave derek to be with me like we've been planning the last three years.
use the money i sent you last week for the plane ticket. we'll have to kill my gf and bury her in the backyard once you get here, so be prepared for that.
my mom and i got in a big fight and she told me to either dump derek or to move out and never talk to her again. and etc.
apparently my sister planned a surprise birthday party for me, but my mom cancelled it. but i had a really nice makeshift birthday party [without my mom] and so that more than made up for it.
derek got me wonderful gifts and i'm full of cake.
i still have to tell my mom that i'm going to move out [but i want until the end of the month, at least]
either way i am extremely glad my brother and sister were here otherwise i would have died.
i'll keep you updated.
ps. this birthday thread helped maintain my happiness.

now, when you say "full of cake..." 0.o She meant semen.
I'm really glad her siblings were here too. It would have sucked for her to have to be alone with her mom in such a state.
I got kicked out and am to never be seen in their house again.
I got Lexie: Leatherbound Anthology of Romantic Poetry A Passion in the Desert by Honore de Balzac Lost Illusions by Honore de Balzac Art and the Academy in the Nineteenth Century Delta of Venus by Anaïs Nin Under a Glass Bell by Anaïs Nin Martin and Osa Black Anorak Juicy Couture Crown Earrings (Her ears are getting pierced this weekend)
Lexie's aunt got her a framed picture of her grandmother from 1918 Lexie's sister got her a pair of bronze owls, a toxin-free waterbottle, a caribeener/flashlight, a hobo bag, and some bubblebath. Lexie's brother is making some sort of work of art for her that isn't done yet
Yeah. It's kind of lame because Lexie and I aren't going to break up just because her mom gets mad. It does nothing to make Lexie do what she wants. It just makes life more difficult/annoying for all of us in the meantime and could possibly lead to Lexie and her mom not talking for 5+ years. (Which is what happened to Lexie's sister)
The funny thing is that (as far as I know from here) you seem like an upstanding young gentleman; the kind who you'd want your daughter to be going out with if she's got to go out with somebody.
you didn't know lexie's mom is batshit crazy?
I guess I did.
Something definitely doesn't fit here - either it's that, or we're missing something huge about Derek.

HB girllllllllllllie, you're 18, I'm sure all your friends have so cleverly suggested you go buy some cigarettes and porn, [so original] but just realize you're one year closer to adulthood, 2 or 3 years left to mess around and have little responsibility, so like enjoy it and live in the moment (:

Ano: I see it as a combination of: -Lexie's mom and I just don't get along very well so she sees Lexie and I as a bad match. -She didn't have the best relationship experiences and assumes her kids won't either so is trying to protect them. -She wants to maintain some control over her daughter who is becoming increasingly independent, and restricting Lexie's ability to see me has been effective at getting her to "stay in line". -Possible jealousy that Lexie and I have a strong relationship while she has been relatively unsuccessful in relationships.
It seems like her intentions are good, she just fails terribly in the execution. She can be really frustrating at times, and makes me really angry at others, but I don't think think she even understands what she's doing wrong when she does something that is really out there. Or she's too proud to admit she's wrong after the fact.
But again, I don't think she is intentionally trying to mess with Lexie.

Yeah, I had the same thought (albeit an obvious one). I mean...this isn't some kid who keeps her out late, gets her drunk, and generally corrupts her. He gives her books for her birthday, ferchrissakes!!! And not trashy novels, but classic European LITERATURE!!!! How good would he have to BE to please Mama!??
But yeah, Derek does seem to have some pretty good insight into the situation.
I had a very similar fight w/ my Mom before going to college. It was awful. Getting out of the house cures a lot of this--suddenly they're no longer putting up with your budding independence and grateful for any scrap of time you toss at them.

well, actually. i kind of didn't want to tell you guys, but derek's actually a vampire. it's kind of creepy, but i'm learning to deal with it. interspecies couple counselling is helping a lot.

I'm lucky to have had the relationship I did with my parents.

I have heard of some literary critics remarking on how Dracula's description in Stoker's original story was supposed to resemble stereotypes of Jewish facial features or something.
she copes with it by making songs about animals. She has her own show called "Bindi: The Jungle girl" she's better than most of these fake ass rappers!
