Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at 8:34 PM Was the purpose of foot binding to save money on shoes? —derekho No, it's to make the foot more attractive. In the early 19th century, many parents of single girls would put their daughters size 3 shoe in front of their door so men can pass by and know that there's an available girl that has a binded foot. —adams_babymomma |

Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 2:49 PM I don't think anyone honestly cares if doing is an idiot, especially none of the males here. Honestly, just stop trying to argue your case. It makes you look insecure. You and dx3 just have different strengths; for instance, she can be friendly. —TortillaFactory |

Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 4:33 PM I think D3 was joking and I know Caitlin is friendly. Okay since no-one is going first I'm putting up my "views". (oh my god qualified with quote marks) The protests are retarded. Here's why: - the original (official, historical) concept of The Olympics is a cessation of all hostilities in order for men of all nations to gather together and compete in peaceful athletic competition. I think it is only a coincidence that the original Olympic sports from millennia ago were all activities that might intimidate lesser kingdoms into surrendering before a war was even started. E.g. look at how much further we can throw spears than your guys can! Anyway, any breech of that idea is a trespass against peace. - the modern incarnation of The Olympics has nothing to do with the original peaceful concept, so protesting that is fine and dandy except that all Olympic events should be protested at all times irregardless irregardless of issues like Tibetan genocide. -sub point: the route of the Olympic torch is absurd. Why the fuck is it going through London, Canberra, San Francisco? Why isn't it going in a direct land route from Greece to China? Too many mud people, too few television cameras? Fucking ridiculous. - No protest makes a difference against an army. What is grabbing a torch from a girl in a wheelchair going to do to the organized military campaign against Tibet? The only effective protest against an army is war. - Anyone not directly connected with Tibet is hypocritcal to care about this because such genocide is continually going on all over the world. - The vast scale of the protest and the accompanying media coverage is quite suspicious. Who the fuck is funding this global campaign? —MajandraFan |
