It was used in a play I was in, in 1979. Since then, I've heard it nowhere (unless you count that time I sought it out, and heard a short sample on Amazon). Thanks for the file!

—derekho

Never heard of this guy but I'm poking around and listening to some of his stuff, and some of it sounds pretty good. (Also some of it does sound kinda-sorta similar to the Terran music from Starcraft so I think I can see why you thought of that at first.)

Ok, it's not really a song but,

I listened to the entire Sandwiches & Cats cd by Michael Showalter, and to my disappointment, he kinda came across as a dick. I feel sorry for the lady who got ridiculed in the track "Cats" I mean sure she shouldn't have brought her cats to the show. It's too weird. But he really put her on the spot and kicked her out and that was mean. Also, he doesn't have a lot of funny material or bits. The only part I found sort of humorous was the 'Erotica' where he mixed advanture tales with erotic stories. I like the voice he used. But seriously he needs to go back doing things like Stella.

i've seen michael showalter 3 times live and he's always been so great. i agree that sandwiches and cats was definitely not as good as i had expected. it was really disappointing. it's probably because a lot of the stuff that he does in his act is visual, so he had to do something different to put on a cd.

mf, that won't work properly.
she's acting, projecting to the extreme of how she wants to be received.
i need people in the flesh in their normal environment.

if you'd have given me 15 minutes of her at some social thing where she's behaving as if not behind a camera, i could narrow down some specifics.

with no idea how she behaves when not being whored/whoring herself, here goes nothing..

the girl is pierced up a tad, and i see one modestly size (balls) tat on her arm. i'm willing to bet there is more.
the piercings are not too aggressive, but enough to get some street cred from those her age and like her, and who she's trying to appeal to. she wants to make sure you notice them.
it introduces the possibility of abuse (to a more or less degree - physical, sexual and/or neglect) and/or alcoholic parent(s).

her hair is short, so she has the punks and dikes satiated.
she must stay out of the sun, because she's very pale. that would suggest a nocturnal lifestyle which introduces the possibly of depression and/or substance abuse.
or, maybe she just avoids being in the sun.

she has nice teeth, complexion good. she's pretty but not instant boner inducing, a lot forehead space, just a touch too much space between her eyes.
the paint on her (real) nails and make-up on her face are subtly loud. she's trying to attract people as much as trying to rub the ones she doesn't like or would never attract the wrong way. seems more sad than angry.
she makes me feel very strongly that she wants to be prettier than she is.
most of us do, but something made me feel like she was projecting it.

but she's not quite "pink" (the performer, not one of andrewwag's friends) who we can probably agree is damaged goods.

she's thin which means she either watches what she eats (could be vegetarian) and/or has some sort of combination of:
high rate of metabolism, an eating disorder/body image issue (which would make her a vegan/vegetarian) and/or uses substances.
if she smokes it's to quell hunger, and we're back to sniffing for eating disorder/body image and/or addiction.

she doesn't strike me as the type to workout much. i'm ruling out health problems not mental just because she's young and looks somewhat healthy.
it's probably a mix. i'll go with: she's a half hearted vegetarian, fast metabolism, doesn't work out, sleeps a lot, is preoccupied with body/image and isn't an everyday addict, but doesn't mind using something sometimes.

she's of average intelligence, and musically inclined.

she's an entertainer. more specifically: musician, lead singer, member in group most in the spotlight.
as drew's new book suggests, celebrities are narcissistic, but narcissism as a disorder is more often in males than females.
so, let's look towards a female dominated personality disorder in the same cluster instead, and say she's more likely histrionic than narcissistic.

(there's a lot more of courtney love in the world than oprah.)

but she wasn't sexually objectifying herself in the video, so either way, let's rule out a full blown disorder. i still the feel like something's going on with her.

what could i possibly deduce from the 4 minutes of staged reality she appeared in?

who is she MF'er? and when did her daddy rape her?

I know you can't judge someone from a film clip the same as if you met them. I wasn't expecting you to be so elaborate.

She's a straight-laced Christian musician. Daughter of a pastor, married young, sings in a church. Hyper Christian. The band, while it existed, was her and her siblings.
I've never met anyone else who likes their music and at this rate I never will.
