And actually, if you havent been to San Francisco, I suggest you go. I consider it the most beautiful big city in the world, and theres TONS of shit to do. Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 5:26 PM that's funny actually, the greek islands made for one of the best vacations of my life, and i was only 12, so yea now would be amazing. fortunately i live 40 minutes from sf, so i get to see a lot of it, but i agree about it being amazing. full of new experiences; for instance saw my first crack deal a few weeks ago, and second, and third... this guy was dealing outside a the hooka bar, quite funny... what countries have yall been to, anyway? my list: America, Germany, Canada, mexico (I didnt stop capitalizing them intentionally with mexico, im just lazy.) guatemala, belize and honduras in the same trip greece, turkey, israel in one thailand, burma(oddly now mayanmar), and laos in one. costa rica england france switzerland belgium. a few more if you count airports i was pretty young though for a most of the european countries, and i dont remember much of them at all.

Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 6:20 PM Edited Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 6:21 PM bangkok for newyears was pretty amazing, very party intensive, by far the best i've ever had, i usually tend to think of spring break places as having beaches though, and i didnt get to that part of thailand. it was deffinitely up to par in the number of drunk young adults, though, when it comes to spring break destinations actually the funniest thing happened new years eve, i was out at a bar with a bunch of people from our tour group, all pretty young, we were all really drunk, like everybody else, and at one point some american guy came up to our table and asked if we wanted to buy some shoes; he looked pretty drunk. not only did we not need shoes, but these were old, ragged, dirty sneakers. so we declined, and he went continued about the bar, and then back out into the street, asking everybody he saw that spoke english. that was when we noticed that he, himself, was not wearing shoes.... —jizzgrenade |

Friday, March 7, 2008 at 8:33 PM Dallas...forget about all those Texas stereotypes...Dallas is about as modern as Chicago or Portland, in my opinion. I've been to Dallas--it rated a meh from me. For a college town I really enjoyed Denton (30 miles away). Portland really doesn't even belong in this conversation. Really great city to live in/raise a family, some cool people, but it's beauty is in its livability. Architecture and things for outsiders to do? Not so much. It's parks are probably up there with the best in the country, but buildings, clubs, bars and whatever usual metric you'd compare a city on? Not so much. What I'm saying is stay the fuck out--we don't want noobz. I really love Vancouver BC with all of its tall thin architecture, the ocean, the mountains, skiing on the municpal bus line--I'd move there if it weren't for it being another country. I also was really impressed with Buffalo--it's architecture looked like it jumped right out of Silver Age DC comics and it had a lot of old industrial money feeling. Too bad its sort of falling apart economically. It would be a cool place to move if you wanted a blank canvas to do what you want in a downtown area. I felt about 10 times safer hanging out downtown there than I ever do in Detroit. —bguirk |
