I grew up w/ a series of GM cars and I swear I had a part time job driving out with my Dad to the dealership in the burbs so I could drive the one in the shop home. I'm up to nearly 80k on my Matrix and the only problems I've had were the tires and the only trips to the shop have been for scheduled maintenance. If someone put a gun to my head and made me buy American I'd get the extended warranty (not from the dealership) because it would be money well spent. 08 Vette. lock this thread. —anfernee You realize he lives in a state with rain/snow and rear wheel drive is suicide in those conditions? —bguirk |

Yeah, I had a BMW for two years. It was a massive piece of shit. I will never buy another one. The American muscle car that adam (who I have never heard exhibit any actual extensive knowledge of cars) so often ragged on has been amazing and a great fucking car. However, I will admit that I don't pay a cent because I'm spoiled and in the case that I DID have to pay, I would go with a Honda or a Toyota. Edit: The best American muscle cars came before 1970, after that things quickly went downhill. I would never buy an american car made after that date. —foob2011 |

one of the reasons i love my mustang. but i must say its kind of an impractical reason, and one could argue that whois probably drives his truck because he likes the attention, which is a similar reason to liking how you dont see similar cars (in that its a bit vain). i forgot where i was going with that. i think i was going to try to play devil's advocate, but i got distracted. Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 2:42 PM Edited Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at 2:44 PM plurry, have you heard the new trent reznor produced saul williams album yet? no, but i will. dont be raggin on hip hop now i find hip hop filled with marginal talent; lots of people who can't sing or play instruments. sure it's music, but to me it's *music, if you catch my drift. there hasn't been a bigger bunch of self absorbed posers in music since hair metal, and at least those dorks could play instruments and sing. sure, i like tricky (for example), but that's an exception not the rule. i do like music made without instruments, like daft punk, cassius, plastikman, peaches, etc, but musicians like jimmy page, roger waters, trent reznor, eddie van halen, dave mustaine, lars ulrich, etc deserve much more respect for their ability to play instruments and write music rather than arrange it on computers or recycle it via samples. sure it takes some creativity and intelligence, but far less. also, i intensely dislike angry black men telling me about a culture that i've never experienced nor will ever understand. i'm simply too white to get it, i guess, and i have no problem with that. i know a shitload about popular music and its history to the point where i struggle to have rewarding convos with people about it. music is seriously important to me. i simply hate hip hop, and don't respect it based on all things considered. also, i've just found that most (not all - but mos def the majority) fans of hip hop are people i have no desire to be around. i've said all this before in posts past, so i'm done with this topic. —plurry |
