People say Kelly was run off and that was a couple of years ago, so the 'hostility' has always existed. But she was more done in more by not be able to take a joke and an over inflated sense of self-importance. She seemed unable to deal with people doing anything but fawning over her - much like Ray Ray, the once-and-forever queen of attention whoredom. ABM was soundly abused when she started posting, and still is, yet she stuck with it and eventually earned acceptance if not respect. Also, she displayed traces of humility and self-deprecation at times which helped. I think ucrchik has already exhibited these same qualities, but it's too soon for her to earn the grudging acceptance part since she hasn't gone through the months of attacks yet that ABM endured. I don't know why some people get it though there is sort of a class thing at play. The standard pretty, cheerleader types are attacked more than the hipster 'alternative' types - make of that what you will. For instance, Stephanie and Lexie are clearly in the latter camp they get more slack. Also, I think them being under 18 when they started posting (yes?) helped. Jackie was probably just creeped out (rightly so) by the type of the attention she attracted - not that she didn't invite it with her images. Or maybe she just grew bored. I don't remember her storming off in a huff like some of the others. Jess is best left alone. You can't fairly discuss her without discussing everything that goes with her and it's not worth rehashing yet again. —Beat It! |
