Friday, February 8, 2008 at 2:25 PM Edited Friday, February 8, 2008 at 2:30 PM I guess Westwood None is going to take "Dr. Drew Live" national according to their website, it also has a demo of Drew talking about the show. Just wanted to pop in and let everyone know. Hopefully if it does go national Westwood None won't charge for podcasts and the KGIL podcasts will still be available. I wish KGIL or someone at WW1 would at least edit the 2 hour show into one file. I also wish they would delete the "AP Update" and KGIL traffic and weather from the podcasts. It just seems like a lazy way of doing podcasting. Although I laughed really hard when I heard the British traffic lady say on a recent podcast, "There seems to be a file cabinet in the left lane on the 710!" *edit* LOL, the "Medical Power" section on the show overview graphic. I can just picture Drew raising his stethoscope to the sky in the studio before starting his show and shouting, "By the power of Aesculapius, I have the medical power!"

Friday, February 8, 2008 at 2:35 PM Edited Friday, February 8, 2008 at 3:21 PM Actually what's funny is that Westwood None hasn't updated Drew's bio on the page, they're still using one from 2000: "Fifteen years ago, during his fourth year at Medical School, Dr. Drew began his second career in late-night radio when he volunteered to co-host a Los Angeles radio show. Over the years, the show evolved into Loveline, which is now heard in over 70 markets. Dr. Drew continues to maintain his medical practice while co-hosting Loveline on the radio and television. Two years ago Dr. Drew and his then Loveline partner Adam Carolla published their advice on a myriad of subjects in their first book entitled The Dr. Drew and Adam Book: A Survival Guide to Life and Love." I've always thought it would be interesting for a book to be written about the history of Loveline and what it was like in the early days for Poorman and Swedish Egil, and how the people who started the show see it now, whether they still listen to it. I'm guessing Poorman doesn't. It would be neat to hear Drew interview Swedish Egil, I think he's an electronica/trance music DJ now in Arizona or somewhere in the Southwest. —John Lennon |

Friday, February 8, 2008 at 8:12 PM There are places that post edits of Drew's show-and Loveline and TACS and Danny Bonnaduce and Celebrity Rehab...I don't think you need to worry about Westwood None charging for it. —bguirk |
