Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at 4:03 PM I heard that Dr. Drew will be on Larry King tonight to talk about Heath Ledger. I was unable to confirm the rumor that Stryker would be named host just before, stripping all value from Larry King Live. —Mayonnaise |

Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 10:45 PM He's drifting dangerously close to Dr. Phil territory. —pookie In the larger sense I don't like the idea of having his career so wrapped up in all of these "stars" fucking themselves up. I understand his urge to think that this is a chance for him to go out and educate, but him going out and pontificating every time TMZ catches someone high is just turning him into a scold because people don't listen. I listened to clips of his appearance on King and I thought he was nowhere near Dr. Phil--he talks about seeing Heath's struggle and puts it in terms of other addicts, but the thing is going on Larry King and talking about celebrities is Dr. Phil-esque so he gets tossed in the same bag even though he doesn't do that blowhard thing where he makes it all about will and personal responsibility. —bguirk |

Friday, February 8, 2008 at 5:37 AM The more I see Drew spreading himself thin with all of his media endeavors along with his regular practice, the more I realize there will be a day soon when his kids are the ones in treatment - and very visibly so (shades of Andy Reid). On the most simplistic level, won't they realize that it's the really the only way to get dad's undivided attention? I hope I'm wrong though, because I don't want Drew to deal with that sort of embarrassment with all the good he's done. —Beat It! |
