His show without writers is honestly probably better than it used to be, and that's just because of his lightning quick witty comebacks, similar to Adam's uncanny ability to come up with a hilarious metaphor off the top of his head immediately. Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at 6:52 AM Leno was great on Letterman in the 80's--some of the funniest late night repartee I've ever seen. Now he's one of the most vanilla mofo's on TV. I have watched maybe three Tonight Shows in the past 15.5 years. The one I caught in person so I could see Branford play band leader and the one minute or so of the last musical acts I watch so I can get to Conan. —bguirk |
