Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 10:16 AM speaking of Lefty... I actually spent this entire semester learning about Asian Americans. My prof. was vietnamese, and i believe she was bi cause she would always stare at me. Anyways there was a kid who looked exactly like lefty. Once he wore a shirt that read "genoius by birth, slacker bu choice". We also learned that there are many disadvantges of being known as the "model minority". Also my group and I had to go in front of the class and talk about the 2004 case (EEOC vs. Abercrombie and Fitch) it was about how these two Asian kids were discriminated and had to work in the back of the store because A&F sells the all-american look. So bascially i went up there and said that A&F should not change thier image, but instead make the store more diverse by hiring other ethnic groups.
I also said that Blacks, and Latinas are curvy..and that upset some of the latinas. everyone pretty much hated me, but i dont give a shit. I'm tired of hearing minorities complain.
also on the last day of class, we had a final discussion about the ramifications that the whites are guilty of. Which i don't agree with, yes whites in the 1800's were racist but that does not give blacks the rights to continue to victimize themselves. Whites have already paid thier dues...it's the blakcs and Hispanics that seem to creating racism. They need to let it go, and stop bringing up old wounds. i also read a book called "Why Are All The Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?" by Beverly tatum. I pretty much hate that book.
sticking with your own race and taking pride in where you come from only adds on to racism. Why is it ok for blacks and latinos to have full pride in where they came from, but if the whites display pride they're automatically considred members of the KKK. I'm a strong believer in interracial marriage. If we all started mixing, our children would be mutiracial, and being multiracial closes all the door of discrimination and prejudice.

Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at 11:40 AM FOR LAITH KILL ALL ARABS! And what's wrong with Latinas being curvy? That's a compliment! Even though they probably took it as, "she's saying we're fat!" Everybody just gets so into their own race, giving people "African" names and putting apostrophes in the middle of people's names. "My name is De'Shawn Quagugu, I'm calling about the apartment on Park Street? It's already rented?" I want people to start putting exclamation marks after their name so they shout it when someone asks them their name. "My name is LUCIUS!" Even funnier would be a question mark. "My name is Demetrius?" —John Lennon |

Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 5:03 PM I used to work at a hardware store where all they played was old 50s country music mixed with 70s stuff like Average White Band. I had to open and close all week long. By the end of every day I wanted to cut my ears off with a trowel. The only worse thing would be if they played nothing but Chuck Mangione. My mom used to have one of his tapes and she would play it all the time in the car, I hated that bearded saxophonist with his goofy hat and his red jacket. —John Lennon |

Friday, December 14, 2007 at 2:26 PM God I hated that song. The DJ used to play it at the skating rink I went to when I was younger. He made up for it later by playing Poison and Metallica, though. Why the hell are skating rink DJs so damn annoying? "HEYYYY it's time for the COUPLES SKAAAAATE, couples ONLYYYYY on the skating rink for the next 10 minutes!" And then when people would have birthday parties at the rink they would always bring out the limbo poles and play that stupid "limbo rock" song, of course the DJ would have to let everyone know what was going on, "HEYYYYYY it's time for the LIMBOOOOOO, LIMBO TIME, for Buffy's BIRTHDAYYYYYYY!!!!!!
