Adam Carolla took his humor a little off track this morning. During a bit about “thinkgs you hate”, a caller brought up cyclists riding in the road (omg - the horror). I think the caller explicitely stated spandex-clad cyclists riding 3 wide, but it sort of went downhill from there. Adam was mostly toungue in cheek about most of it, but the co-star of the program, Danny Bonaduce was a little less carefull and offered to mow down cyclists for entertainment purposes. This sort of stuff isn’t new and has gotten plenty of attention in the past. Most of the show is usually available for download later in the day.

As someone who uses a bike as their primary mode of transportation, I should probably be more torn on this, and I did get a sinking feeling in my gut when the caller brought it up, but I didn't really have a problem with anything Adam or Danny said.

You'd have to be a moron to think that they were actually advocating hitting bikers or that Danny would do that (deliberately / while sober). Once you get past that, it's just a bit about the most visible subset of bikers (who actually piss me off because they give the rest of us a bad name and breed animosity against non-a-hole bikers).

That said, in the interest of equal time, and as a biker (and actually a car-driver as well), I would like to lodge my own complaint against drivers (and bikers) who don't follow the proper right-of-way and either hold up traffic by waiting when they should go, or who hold up traffic by deciding that they should go when they aren't supposed to.

Fucking bikers. I almost never see any, but tonight coming back from visiting my bartender girl friend at the bar, there was one in the right lane, pedalling along, and my turn in was coming up and I started shouting in my car, "COME ONNNN COME ONNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!" He was wearing this gay looking nylon/rayon jersey with the biker shorts and the goddamn European racing 10 speed bike with the curved handlebars.

God forbid you wait 8 seconds or drive around them which is what I do. Life must be sad for you spazzing out all the time.

I have to add that I hate it when Cyclist use the ROAD and not the side walks during BUSY TRAFFIC HOURS causing me to verve to the far left when I can see who's in my blind spot.
Plus with a 40 oz between my legs it gets kinda hard switch between the pedals.

I tend to agree.

Sure the law says that bikers can (and, in fact, should) ride in the road with traffic, but if there's a perfectly good side-walk beside the road, using that keeps you out of the way of the cars and gives you a tiny bit more protection from Danny's Armada.

BTW Rancid - the fall schedule is starting up. I've got a new show on Mondays from 8-10 starting monday if you're interested, and there's still the sunday 4-6 slot (also starting this week), so if you guys would like to come in then, that'd be awesome.
