This AT&T billing thing is brilliant because they have a flat data rate, but give you an itemized list of every time you download anything. I only used mine for a week and ended up with 5 pages. That said - I will be getting another one circa December when I move because AT&T ended up not being *quite* the evil money-grubbing bastards I originally thought they were. ... of course - I will be using electronic / paperless billing. —anobody |

Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at 7:16 AM I'm sort of surprised that more people haven't flipped out about the privacy issues around AT&T sending out a hard record of everywhere you've been on the internet with your phone let alone hanging on to it in the first place. Since I'm back in the land of where I don't go out at night and no one calls me I'm still going to sit this out until I'm done with school. I'm pretty intrigued to see what Google comes up with when they buy up spectrum. Apple should be in on that auction so they can kick AT&T to the curb--the whole mobile economic model is fucked and Apple really shouldn't be in on it since they're seen as innovators. —bguirk |

I'm pretty intrigued to see what Google comes up with when they buy up spectrum I thought that didn't work out. There is still the rumor of the ad-supported Google phone though (which would suck for me, but I'd bet my mom would get one). Apple should be in on that auction so they can kick AT&T to the curb--the whole mobile economic model is fucked and Apple really shouldn't be in on it since they're seen as innovators. Minimum of 60 bucks a month for a minimum of 2 years (except for the people who failed the credit check and got the month-to-month plan). Several million iPhones times 60 bucks times 2 years is a fair bit of coin and Apple didn't have to invest hundreds of billions to build the infrastructure. (I referred to myself as "us," I was thinking it would be my new thing, but now that I see it, it's actually kind of annoying, so that will be the first and last appearance of my new thing.)
