I think last year around Valentines day I went out with a girl I had a secret crush on to buy my girlfriend at the time some quick cheap gifts. I think I got her a stuffed monkey, some chocolates and something else lame. Anywho, when I was at work my gf snuck into my dorm and left me a bunch of balloons, a big heart shaped cookie cake, made me this big card with ten reasons why she liked me, got me the jones soda valentines sodas and got me random candy. I didn't know what to say. I felt like such a dick. Fuck Valentines day.
Valentines is generally not celebrated in this house. This year the movie theater we are members of are throwing a party with free chocolate and a free movie--generally though 2/14 is amateur night--it's sort of like going out of town on labor day weekend. Everyone else is doing it so why not volunteer to work, make the OT, and take the following weekend off?
For those of you who don't have a valentine should look at the wonderful notion that your saving your money and time for a bullshit holiday.
I read somewhere that Valentines during the roman age men would beat their woman around this time of year to make them fertile so granted 9 months from now a little gun weilding black tooth striker will be sucking down some walmart formula.
Also that it's possibly named after 2 valentines in the catholic church. One was executed for marrying soilders forbidden to get married to women in time of war and the other seemed like a pedophile cuz children would write him letters in prison.
the thing is I have a fatty crush on a girl in my PE class, and I talked to her, and it was just hella fun just talking to her, and I looked forward to 6th period everyday.
But at semester, she transferred out of that PE period, and I'm so sad. I haven't even seen her in like a week. = [ I swear she liked me back, but now I'll never know, man this feels like such a wasted opportunity.

so this guy in my class starts talking to me out of the blue..he was like "yeah we should study for the exam"..so we exchange numbers and this morning he sent me a text message saying

Well, last year I was happily in a relationship with somebody i considered to be the greatest girl I'd ever met.
This year, not so much. After feeding me the 'I couldn't imagine not being friends with you line' she hardly talks to me at all. It's lovely, really.
and on a side note, the girl I'm kinda sorta potentially crushing on [I'm not sure at this point, it's been awhile since I've had a CRUSH] is the daughter of two of my teachers...the Mr. teaches AP Government, the Mrs. teaches AP Literature. So that's a little rough.
I will say as a qualifier that I am in good standing with both of those teachers...still terrifying, as they're both super intimidating people (if you're on their bad side. Thankfully I'm on the good side of both. Haha). Any suggestions anybody?
Yeah, both her parents as 12th Grade Teachers...Her dad's the assistant basketball coach, too (she's on the team). and her 9th grade sister (the only remaining member of the family) is on the team as well, and next year the entire family will be at the same high school. Haha.

Long / protracted story and I'll spare you the details but a girl (pause) friend who I'm really into and I've been spending a lot of time with has a boy(no pause)friend who flew into town yesterday, so she's hanging out with him all weekend.
In the long run, I'm sure it's all just as well and I probably needed to be slapped in the face with reality, but for the moment, it's just oodles of fun.
Seeing all of the other people who are mopey walking around campus is about the only thing that's keeping me from getting too down (and there is a certain amount of hollow / materialistic consolation in the knowledge that I'm making more than double their combined income - though I'd take the girl over the money given the chance).
Ok, I just got back from my Taco Bell Valentines. I saw my X chick (she was neevr technically my gf, although we were pretty much dating for all intents and purposes), she is now 8 months pregnant with some douchebag LA sheriff's baby. It was ok, we talked forever and it was all smiles and good times. Im really glad its over, especially becasue she is pregnant. Thank GOD its not my kid! Speaking from some limited experience here--LTR's tend to fail more than last when people are in school and the thing that triggers failure is usually a bad weekend visit. While things are painful for you now and the thought of them going at it is probably killing you the chances of them breaking up are exponentially higher now. You could up them some more by going out to dinner with the two of them this weekend and engaging her in some talk about some things you've done together--get her to smile about it ect. Good times.
