Adam's Stalker

I was browsing the Adam Carolla Show message board a week or so ago and came across a thread about a woman who showed up on the show and was stalking Adam. It never got podcasted (which is how I listen, despite living in LA). Does anybody have that audio, or know where I can find it?

Her name was Katie, as I recall she was Borderline/manic-depressive and flew out from Chicago, Adam let her in studio and she offered to babysit his kids and other things. Her parents called in and freaked. It was good radio.

Well, if by "good radio", you mean that it was interesting to see someone with a broken mind on the air, then yeah, I guess you're right.

On the other hand, if by "good radio", you mean taking advantage of someone who isn't in their right mind and has serious problems just to appeal to the baser elements of the audience with no regard toward ethics or personal responsibility, then yeah, I guess you're right.

I did appreciate Lynette calling in and telling Adam he should be ashamed of himself and that he knew better. It also showed that Bruschetta would do anything for ratings (at least, for what he thought would bring up the numbers).

Adam was trying to get her help. He also got her parents contact info to call them so they knew where their daughter was.

If this had been Stern it would have been very different. She would have been naked and on the symbian.

It is for radio and ratings but Adam handled it alright. It also was good insight into the mental condition of people like this.

FreeFM felt that it was not best to make that segment available as a podcast.

Yeah, I even remember some ACS insider anonymously posted a picture of her (most likely ACS webmaster Jack Sullivan) before it was nixed by the ACS board admin "Nullus" (who is, ironically, ACS webmaster Jack Sullivan).

IOW, FreeFM did not want to have any additional potential-lawsuit fodder floating around.

That's a safe bet. I'm sure they'd torture and kill puppies and kitties in horrible ways if they could ratings out of 'em.

Big Valley, you didn't get any insight into people like that. Either you are one of those people, or you don't understand them. Anyway, even those people don't understand themselves.
