They distorted the Gandhi quote saying it "didn't apply to regular folks owning guns." Let's see how our gun banning Brit and Aussie distort Orwell (Orwell had a nasty habit of being correct about things).

"That rifle on the wall of the labourer's cottage or working class flat is the symbol of democracy. It is our job to see that it stays there." — GEORGE ORWELL

I bet that instead of distorting this quote, they'll pull a Lisa Simpson and just say that it's an "outdated relic."

At first I thought I had created a self fulfilling prophecy, but no, I just think I hit the nail on the head.

Just so you all know, Ace and MF'er will be going up against Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in striker's next thread. I could be wrong though. You guys should bone up on all of the out of context unexpected gun supporter quotes here and at a crazed gun supporter's website near you. Nice work Mr. Originality.

Yea Orwell sounds SOOOOOO "out of context" doesn't he. So bedork, to you, when he said "rifle," did he mean tampon? And by "labourer" did he mean government agent? You're just a dumbass. No you're a fucking STUPID dumbass. No, you're an intentionally ignorant, shit for brains excuse for a man.

"Doctor" [ha ha] King was a communist dickhead, so you're wrong AGAIN.

1. He said rifle, not handgun or sub-machine gun. Orwell doesn't want you to have your beloved MAC.

2. I can tell by how freaked out you get when I accuse you of using out of context quotes that I'm right. When they have the out of context Drew drops on Loveline it's funny because we know he doesn't mean it yet the callers think he does. When you take one sentence from someone's writings and ascribe an entire world view based on that one sentence it's not funny, it just sad. If I were to do it in academics or on the job I'd be up a creek. I'm just preparing you for the eventuality that you might get an actual job some day by holding you to accepted standards. Keep trying little man.

3. It's sad that the arguments of actual people in your movement aren't compelling enough so you have to wrangle out of context quotes from plain old famous dead people who aren't actually alive to clarify or verify your biased reading of what they said. Maybe someday that persuasive, charismatic, yet non-crazy gun freak will emerge. Until then you'll have to have people gather tiny quotes on pages and urge your fellow travelers to post them on the web and send them to op-ed pages. Good luck with all that.

<<"1. He said rifle, not handgun or sub-machine gun. Orwell doesn't want you to have your beloved MAC."

I love it when gun phobes comment on firearms because they know NOTHING about them.

I'll bet you don't know what "rifling" is do you? I'll give you a hint. My "MACs" all have it. You further show your ignorance in that you clearly are not even aware that many "MACs" (including 6 of mine) are carbine RIFLES.

As if your ignorance had come to an end, you clearly are not aware that most "submachine guns" are designated as rifles. If they're not, they're usually referred to as "machine pistols" (which all still have rifling in their barrels by the way).

Orwell was clearly referring to firearms (steel tubes that ejaculate a bullet by means of an explosion) and you damn well know it you lying tard.

I'm amazed that you will honestly CONTINUE to play the "you're taking it out of context" card. The best part is you don't say HOW it's out of context. I'm calling you out coward moron. Tell me how the quote at the top of THIS thread is allegedly "out of context." You can't and you know it. Don't hide behind what others do with OTHER quotes. Tell me how THIS one is o.o.c. you lazy stupid cock.
