Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 6:45 PM Not really a good market for Loveline. I mean, black people don't listen to it and white people don't need to. —Had To Get It On |

Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 7:16 PM I listened for the comedy. So, it's not as bad as listening for sex advice.. but you're sort of right, I mean it is kind of white to listen to it. —Had To Get It On |

Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 7:28 PM I don't know how many people listen for the sex advice. Based on the callers, I'd say zero. It's a weird white/black thing. Black people I know only have heard the MTV show. I've run into white people that were actually fans and knew a lot about the show. —Had To Get It On |

Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 7:47 PM I don't know how many people listen for the sex advice. Based on the callers, I'd say zero. I don't think the callers are exactly representative of the listeners (though I could be wrong). It's a weird white/black thing. Black people I know only have heard the MTV show. I've run into white people that were actually fans and knew a lot about the show. As big of a fan as I've been, I think Loveline has come up in conversation *maybe* 4-5 times (and that's probably generous). Not that I hang out with enough black people to get a good sample. Maybe there's room for another version of Loveline copiloted by ZT in blackface. —anobody |

Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 8:43 PM First of all, black people in general are sexually conservative. I mean, you wouldn't know it by watching rap videos. But hang out with normal black people and you'll see what I mean. And NYC in general is not a sexually liberal town. There are a lot of minorities, rich white people, Catholics, Jews and immigrants here. In my experience they tend not to be open with their sexuality on this level. I know I'm not, so maybe it's the people I put myself around. But then again, Loveline doesn't do well in NYC. —Had To Get It On |

Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 9:35 PM Just to add to what HTGIO says--NYC is not exactly a young persons city either---by young I mean children. Most of the people I know that live/lived there moved out to the burbs when they had kids. If loveline's audience is really 13-19 year olds there aren't that many there (in proportion to NYC's size). That said, it doesn't mean you can't hear NYC stations in the burbs. —bguirk |

They vaguely remember the tv show on MTV. As a young black man, i love both of them, as I almost have every radio episode from '99 to current stored on an external hard drive. —I Say Good Day |
