Monday, December 11, 2006 at 7:27 PM I got slapped in the face by reality! I now realize how hard life can be. I was sheltered and had everything handed down to me for 21 years...and today i found out what hard work is. I wrote 9 pages for my English class final...i just kept writing and writing till my hand gave up on me. It was stupid, lame shit about Sherlock holmes and Utopia. Then i studied for 4 hours straight and took a math final, about 2 hours ago. That final can either make or break me. I wish life can be more easier because i can't handle this stress anymore. —adams_babymomma |

Monday, December 11, 2006 at 8:28 PM <<"I got slapped in the face by reality!" Well if women didn't spend every waking minute AVOIDING reality, it wouldn't "slap you in the face" (which is just a euphemism for "I can't avoid reality anymore, I'm outta gimmicks"). <<"I now realize how hard life can be." Women have to realize this on a case by case, incident by incident basis. Men don't have the luxury of not "realizing" this. <<"I was sheltered and had everything handed down to me for 21 years...and today i found out what hard work is." There's no male equivalent to this. There's a RICH kid equivalent, but women are systematically sheltered and have everything handed to them, not to mentioned being constantly covered for. <<".i just kept writing and writing till my hand gave up on me." Yea, substanceless filler comes naturally to females. To top it off, that nice looking "girl writing" will earn her a pass, whereas ugly male writing for the SAME amount and quality of writing would be rejected. <<"I wish life can be more easier because i can't handle this stress anymore." LOL "more easier." Real men don't sit around wishing for life to be easier per se (we always look for better/easier ways of DOING something), we simply want to be able to enjoy most of the fruits of our labors before women/government/female "holidays" steal/hijack it. It will probably take adam's bowel movement a lifetime to realize this, but women weren't designed for intense college. They do BETTER at it than most males because everyone's backing them up and most of the REAL LIFE pressure is off of them. They can get their degree in some vague major they'll NEVER USE and they know it doesn't matter. There should be a few girls ONLY colleges, but most colleges should not allow them so men can get the education they actually NEED so as to take care of these SAME women when they're pregnant and forgetting the tiny bits they MIGHT have learned in college. Society USED to know to get out of the way of the male so he can learn to take care of his family, in the same way it gets out of the way for the pregnant mother. Now, males have to COMPETE with females in college in every way INCLUDING for space (all of which drives up the cost). Ladies, re-learn how to pick a good guy, help HIM get a good education so he can take care of you and the kids, then stop sabotaging all of the above. —striker |

Calling you once a month from atòp the Burj Al Arab in Dubai or something? Hmmm well I guess you family so filthy rich that you´ve never even had to clean your own room and looked down at people who werent owners of Mercedes Benz at 16.
One time I was taking my driving test, in my Hyundai...and as I pulled up to the red light. The car beside me was a Rolls Royce....in which the owner ALSO was taking a driving test, except that she was sitting in the back and her butler was taking the test. Then one of tinted windows rolled down and the chick stuck her arm out just to give me the finger and a dirty look. Was that you ABM??

Monday, December 11, 2006 at 10:24 PM Are you kidding??? Of course it happened man. Like I said I pulled up to the light in this green 90-something Hyundai that I was somewhat proud of, simply for the effort it took to get the car, even though its a piece of F. And this chick when she rolled the window down gave me a smile for a second because im quite the profile....but then she must have seen what I was driving...and then before I know the bird goes flying in my face...a dirty look catches me off gaurd and before I know it im staring at the 300,000 dollar muffler of ABM´s priviledge driving off into the hills. I dont know for sure if it was her....but It sure sounds like it. —AbsolutCarib |

Grad school is the easiest so far. I've written something like 40 pages in the last two weeks, but I've been doing this on and off for years now. Monday, December 11, 2006 at 11:06 PM I remember once during what might've been my junior year I was asked to write a 20 page paper about Liberalism (not American left-wing liberalism, the political science academic kind) and I got all worried. Somewhere around page 16 I found out that people had been double-spacing their papers for that class and that everyone double-spaced their papers for all of their classes. I used to hand in mini-manifestos in 10 pt font single spaced that would regularly hit the top end of the page "requirement." No one ever said anything to me. I'm still a little pissed at all the pot I could've been smoking then. —bguirk |

Tuesday, December 12, 2006 at 10:55 AM Anobody, it comes down to motivation and incentive. Im guessing you dont writing for your dissertation or pages to publish because you cant get around to it, it bores you. Or maybe just the idea of starting it, doesnt excite you as much as typing quips back and forth in the forum does. The forum keeps you on your toes, you go into almost a trance like state, typing almost as fast as you are thinking. Why not type some ideas for your dissertation right inside of the post window, WHILE you are typing up some heated post during a discussion here. The before hitting click copy paste the part for your dissertation to a text file and save it. It may not be a final draft but maybe it could be the seed for which you need to begin with. I think you can that dissertation or publication done. Just find another way, to match the force you use here to write, to the what it takes for your own writings.

i thought to myself...my parents won't always be here..my dad is 64 and my mom is 47..and if i keep failing my classes (2 so far)..i'll never get that B.S. degree, and i wont have a job that makes decent money..so then how will i live? my sister pays for my car insurance, my mom gives me money everday for lunch..but without them, i cannot survive.

I dont see why we can just take courses that we are intersted in..like for example i suck at math and science...but i enjoy English, music, 20th century history, psychology, sociology/society classes....why do i need math and science...why??? —adams_babymomma |

Why not type some ideas for your dissertation right inside of the post window, WHILE you are typing up some heated post during a discussion here. OK - I'll try it. Often, collections of objects move in a concerted fashion, and the underlying structure of that concerted motion can reflect relationships between those objects. Interesting examples include jamming of packed vibrating spheres, and coupling between groups of two or more people - not unlike when Liz and Mikey got together through TLC. ABM - my mom always likes to tell me that when she went to school, they used to say women went to get their M-R-S. That's kinda funny, get it? Oh you did? Too obvious? It wasn't as funny because I pointed it out? Well FUCK YOU! Aren't you a little smarty pants. Ya pansy! Well... that started out OK, but started heading south pretty fast. if i keep failing my classes (2 so far)..i'll never get that B.S. degree No. If you keep screwing around in JC and not in a four-year, you'll never get that B.S. degree.

A number of us in the 30+ club have not been raised with the internet from age 8 on and therefore are slightly uncomfortable with hanging every ounce of personal information out there for all to see. Perhaps we've been around long enough to have it bite us in the ass once or twice or we're overly cautious with what to us is a new medium or we just have more to loose if something does bite us in the ass. Some people were raised right and are discrete by nature. Either way, who cares. I like to maintain my anonymity as it relates to this forum around the level where if you've been around here a couple of weeks you can figure out who I am, but if you're typing my screenname into a search engine it'll take some effort to connect the dots. It seems to work for me. Others keep it at a higher or lower level for whatever reason makes sense to them and while I may kid them from time to time, I try to respect their privacy. —bguirk |
