Edited Thursday, December 7, 2006 at 12:44 AM Finally got to bed at 3.45am this morning (had to be up for work at 7.00am) and spent a fitful few hours sleeping after a disasterous evening of computing - messed up system - tried updating windows/media player/variosu other bits - computer crashed would not start with out going to safe mode and in safe mode just froze. So I tried re-installing windows - that caused bigger problems as windows wont reload windows in safe mode and I did not get any other start option - so big problems - that drive holds all the programmes - all my daughters music/ i-pod stuff photos / ebay stuff / e-mail / documents and much much more (luckily all my american radio stuff was on another disc) - so spent all night trying to get the fffing thing to start - tried switching drives and all sorts of stuff - at 3.45 am I was so pissed off, knackered and broken that I went to bed1 leaving the computer starting very very slowly on my precious drive that carries an emergency copy of windows (for just such an occasion) and all my important stuff (music/american radio) everything else is lost the world is a bad place and I am going to spend a small fortune at PC World as again I have blown my soundcard and I need to make myself feel good - so I may buy all sorts of things i dont need in an attempt to make myself feel better like a big kick ass drive and load it up with all sorts of stuff - luckily the Porn is safe!
I have also lost all my internet favourites addresses which means I will only be able to download adams show throught he crappy offical site if I can find that again. —AceRockollaisAce |

Thursday, December 7, 2006 at 8:24 AM Sitting here at work knowing I have to spend much money and hours putting the 'puter back together tonight which means another night spent swearing and pulling my hair out.
I had to f my wife hard this morning otherwise I would have taken the anger to work with me and I would have gone postal on thier asses - However once I unloaded the gun I was as tame as a pussycat.

I know how much that sucks. I will only be able to download adams show throught he crappy offical site if I can find that again. Is this the one you mean? They seem to have improved the server (or it just got less popular) because I don't have to hit retry 15-hundred times before a download starts any more. However once I unloaded the gun I was as tame as a pussycat.

exactly Do players load?
if i click to play the video/sound clip. it will say that it's loading and it will either play with no sound skipping like mad. or it just won't start at all. i don't understand the no-sound. Do you have a firewall?

If so, there is little hope. 1st rule of asking for help is POST A GOSH DANG, SON OF A DIDDLY, PIECE OF ESS url (i.e. an address for the comprehension of bush supporters who may read this). 2nd rule, post a screenshot of what you ARE getting (alt + print screen button, then paste to "paint," then save to your computer, then upload to imageshack/photobucket etc, then post image address HERE). Until you do this, all WE can do is continue to masturbate feverishly while checking this thread from time to time (speaking rhetorically of course). —striker |

Saturday, December 9, 2006 at 11:26 AM Steps to help keep your crap safe: 1) Buy a small (10 GB or so) hard drive just for your Windows operating system. Ask a geek to set it up for you. 2) Put ALL of your important files on the other larger drive so when an emergency reformat is needed, your data is still safe. 3) Use Firefox (and Thunderbird if you use POP3 or IMAP e-mail accounts) and backup the bookmarks, cookies and mail profile weekly. More often if your computer is acting up. Backup the REALLY important stuff to cd-r or dvd-r weekly. —Colin |
