Former Iraq tyrant, Saddam Hussein, was sentenced to death by hanging Sunday morning for the massacre of countless civilians. In an outburst of emotion, Hussein began screaming at the judge as the verdict was delivered. He shouted, "Allahu Akbar!" (God is Greatest) and "Long live the nation! Iraq was better off (at the time of our dumb invasion) before the bush invasion. That is not arguable. Bush supporters have to change the subject and talk about saddam's past crimes (which no one disputes) to divert attention from the COMPARISON between conditions just BEFORE the invasion to NOW that we've obliterated the place and caused a civil war and attracted militants from all over the region. Everyone knew it was a sham trial that would end this way. I'd like to visit Iraq to buy a full auto AK for a few hundred bucks. Sure I couldn't bring it back to the "land of the free" but I'd store a nice collection of full autos there until the civil war ended. What did everyone think of this year's Simpsons treehouse of horror? —striker |

In a related tangent, the state of Delaware executed by hanging as recently as between 15-20 years ago. True story. I think they have lethal injection now.

Friday, November 10, 2006 at 1:34 PM What did everyone think of this year's Simpsons treehouse of horror?
I thought it was pretty weak. The first part was alright, kind of tired of all the parodies they do, that's all they do anymore. The second one about the golem was pretty dumb. And the last one was the funniest, but lame how they're alluding to the Iraq war. I hate it when the Simpsons step in to politics, trying to be like South Park, it's not their MO. I like War of the Worlds and Orson Welles, but this was pretty gay. In the end of the episode, Kang and Kodos originally said "This is much like Iraq will be" but they cut it out. pretty weak. I'm just glad I have seasons 1-8 on DVD so I can still watch the good episodes whenever I want. —Stryker311 |
