Does TLC really seem to suck these days (yes/yes)? Why?

Yes, it sucks. But the glory days were probably not as great as we think; every six months or so, people talk about how much it sucks, and reminisce about the days when they first arrived. It's been going on since the beginning.

State of TLC? Not sound. There hasn't been a post from anyone connected to the show in a good six months, Stryker is in the cohosting chair, and Striker and Drake start something around 3 idiotic threads a day. People like myself take the bait and post in them. It's bad times. Long live Goatbased. I need to hang out there more.

The Companion will go as the show goes. People posted a lot when Stryker first took over, but now everybody is used to the show sucking and don't feel the need to post about it much. Believe me, if Westwood None replaced Strykers people would be posting good stuff again.

I wouldn't start so many threads if there were stuff here related to Loveline that was interesting. I just get bored and don't want to stick a spear through my penis, so I start threads about my life.

I think Drake is a "mole" being paid by Stryker to disrupt organizations that mostly hate him and are loyal to Adam. This is part of an effort to prevent us from organizing and making Loveline good radio again.

I will mull over this topic and possibly post a thought provoking response tomorrow. Or maybe not. Drunk Mandee, any opinions?

I'm not sure why I keep coming back. Most of the discussion here is monopolized by the trolls now. I'm not so interested in the show now that Stryker is hosting it -- it's been impossible for me to listen to an episode without cringing. It seems to me like most people feel the same way. When we do discuss the show it's almost always about how much we hate Stryker or something related to the "Adam Era" or the "still picking a new co-host era."

Most of the people I would miss are on MySpace or have a LiveJournal where I could keep up with them.

I do like chatting on the Hub when there's people around.

Part of the reason I've been trying to get people to do things like ping TLC is to see if promoting it a little more would bring in some new folks or bring back old timers back.

If the forum software gets up on some place like SourceForge, and all of the software geeks here are willing to pitch in, I think we can make some changes that would help a lot. Even something simple like Email Notification (I know Full Meat said the tlcnotifer doesn't do email anymore?) would help to keep people informed and coming back.

"Chat" is completely out of hand. I know, it happens in every forum, and the lack of Loveline related things to talk about makes it worse, but it still bothers me sometimes. The enormous post volume is hard to keep up with, I often find myself simply skimming over hours worth of chat posts instead of reading threads. The only downside in this situation is I am likely missing things that I might like to read. I have long advocated the hub as an alternative to this, but it seems as though it will never be viable.

Trolls seem to be rampant. Unfortunately, they have always been here, and always will be - the ones we are currently dealing with are not as bad as one's we've suffered in the past. I can stand sorting through a bit of trash, as long as it isn't overwhelming.

I'm sure most people agree, Loveline is either dying, or going through it's darkest era ever, meaning the threads on this board might end up reflecting the state of the show for a while. I'm fine staying here and helping keep this community as focused as it can be on relevant topics. If nothing else, we have so far been a place for people new and old to commiserate about the Stryker situation. I hate to see people give up and leave, or just fade away and stop posting, but it always happens in every internet community, so I'm not shocked by it here. Almost everyone who kick-started the forum in 2003 has since faded to obscurity, yet the place is still standing and is generally an entertaining way to relax after a long day.

I am very excited about some of the proposed improvements that could go into effect in the forum software and for this site as a whole, and I'll be looking forward to helping with anything I can in that endeavor. I hope for moderation to be more transparent and less secretive, so as to not confuse and alienate new posters, and to make it obvious to trolls and idiots where the community and moderators stand on their idiocy.

Basically, it's not bad - I like you folks, I hope most of you stick around, and I'm glad to interact with you all, despite the fact that I don't listen to loveline live anymore.

Good thoughts Kevin. You make me want to be a better poster.

I honestly think we should all sit down and take the time to write real letters (not e-mail) and send them 3-4 places to try and get Stryker out of there. Once upon a time we supposedly got Adam a decent contract. It makes me sad that so many of us that were daily listeners are now peeping the guest lists to look for the nights Stryker isn't there.

I have only been here since 2004 and while there were worse personalities that did worse things(although Striker is up there) I would argue that the volume hasn't been much higher than it is right now.

As for enhancements--if you guys do them in a language/platform I know, I'm always available to write code. Kudos to everyone who keeps this place going.

"Who's number one?"

She is kinda gross (though that's got nothing to do with the big boobs).

I listen to Loveline, although I only listen to old episodes (luckily I have a lot of catching up to do) - thanks to this site there are still lots of episodes out there.

Also I treat this as the Adam Carolla forum - I dont really like the official show one.
