Drew's on vacation in Europe with the wife and triplets.
He said he wanted to show them all the ancient sites and stuff like Michelanglo.
He'll be gone for 2 weeks or so.

Don't forget the other doctor that was on a few nights ago. I forget his name, but it was one that hasn't been on the show before (so not Dr. Ben or anything). He was also some sort of cosmetic surgeon I believe.

I did like the fact that Stryker called Dr. Bruce on his "QUAL" cup of coffee. Meaning that when you put one Equal in your coffee, you taste the "EQ". When you put as much as 8 Equals in your cup of coffee, a la Dr. Spaz, you taste the "QUAL". And there is absolutely NO comparison between a regular glass of Coke and the hypercaffeinated cup of coffee that Dr. Spaz drinks. First of all, coffee is already caffeinated MORE than a regular can of Coke. When you put EIGHT PACKETS OF SUGAR IN IT, IT IS A DR. SPAZ ATTACK WAITING TO HAPPEN! I also think Dr. Bruce should change his radio name to Bruce Spazola.

Dr. Bruce and Adam used to get along great,

That reminds me of the episode with Adam and Bruce, (probably summer of 05?) and at the end of the show Adam mentioned the creepy old man from the Six Flags commercials, and Bruce had never seen him, and Adam was appalled. Bruce asked him to give him a medical analogy or whatever and Adam said "It's be like if someone said they've never seen their bellybutton.". lmao, and then 10 minutes later we hear Bruce say "Oooooooh i know what you're talking about". lol that made me laugh so gd hard, someone should post a clip.

Regarding the time countdown, I think he might just be itching to get out of there without Dr. Drew around to help move the show along. He still isn't used to the gig yet, I don't think. But at least he doesn't go, "11:22, that's 22 minutes after the hour of 11, only 38 more minutes til midnight, the WITCHING HOUR everybody, (lightning bolt sound) blaaahhh blah blah blah, hahahaha, Greg, line 5, got a little yeasty on the peckeroo, I gotta tell ya I get some problems with my peckeroo when I get high, my motto is 'When I'm high, peckeroo stays dry!' ahahahahaa, whooooah it's 11:23 we're running late for the break at :20, gotta pay some bills, WE'LL BE RIGHT BACK!"

Dr.Spaz got some cool points in my book after tonight.
Who would have guessed that Dr.Bruce used to work raves?
I also liked the fact that he mentioned it was like working with lab rats.
Or something like that to that extent, smart way of getting around having to dope people up and watch the effects of drugs on their psyche. I used to do experiments like that with LSD when I was selling it.

I don't know why everyone gives Drew a pass on that. Yes, it seems that he's not making the decision, but does anyone honestly believe that if he went to management and said "I want Daniel Tosh to be the new cohost" (or some other random guy), they wouldn't at least take that under advisement?

Granted, I don't know what's going on behind the scenes, but I've just gotta believe that Adam could have got something done long ago, were he in Drew's shoes.

anobody

Mayonnaise

+

Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 12:13 PM

I think Drew would tell them who he wants as cohost, but they know that Drew doesn't like confrontation and wouldn't feel the need to act. When Adam really wanted something done, he would tell them to do it or he wouldn't be showing up after a certain date(The swap from Westwood 2 to KROQ for example.) Drew wouldn't do something like that.

Mayonnaise

andrewwagner777

+

Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 12:17 PM

Probably because Drew can't really afford to. The show's so far into the toilet that all he has to do is step out of line and give the suits a reason to pull the plug. If he says he won't show up after a certain date if they don't give him who he wants, they'll just tell him "fine" and cut their losses & move on.

andrewwagner777

no not alright!!!

+

Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 2:09 PM

Dr. Drew has the power to atleast voice his opinion....they can not fire someone for atleast hearing Dr. Drew's suggestion...Dr. Drew hates confrontation...Adam thrived on it....if it werent for Adam...they would have still ben in that shithole...otherwise known as Westwood None...the thing is we prob will never know who Dr. Drew likes or dislikes as a co-host.

no not alright!!!

Mayonnaise

+

Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 2:16 PM

I think we all know that Drew loved having Bonaduce there so he could work with an addict every night, but Drew has to know that Danny wasn't the best choice(though he would have been better than Stryker.) If Drew did walk over the cohost thing, I don't think for a minute Westwood None would pull the plug on the show. They would simply plug in Dr. Bruce or Dr. Gary or Dr. Ben or some other cheaper alternative and wring every last cent out of the show until they had no more affiliates. Salary is the only real cost they have in the show afterall.

Mayonnaise

no not alright!!!

+

Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 2:21 PM

yes you are correct mayo...Doctors are standing by to take that show...because it would give them great exposure...espec if they have written a book or some crap like that.

Exactly (and that's the problem).

Even if that's the case (and, like Mayonnaise, I'm not at all convinced it is), he still could have done it a year ago.

anobody

drakeguy19

Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 9:13 PM

Drew's just such a pushover, he lets people walk all over him. He's just such a people pleaser he can't see/doesn't accept that management doesn't care/want to know what he thinks. And if they did in fact ask him his opinion on a cohost, in order not to rock the boat I think he would say "Whatever you think is best". However his testicles might one day descend and he will then be like the kid in that movie Lucas, saving the day with his stethoscope and enormous...intellect.
