Is Pandora Evil?

Pandora markets itself as a tool to find music you'll like based on how similar it is to music you all ready like. But if you pay attention to the playlists it generates, it looks more like it's just a clever form of contextual advertising. The playlists it generates pads songs you haven't heard with songs you've all ready told it you like.

Doesn't the name kind of answer the question in itself? I mean Pandora it kinda speaks for itself doesn't it? Don't you think the people who decided to name their product after a myth about the source of all evil would actually be evil? I mean DUH! I mean think about it this way, if the program wasn't evil, they would have named it something nice, like "Unicorn" or something else both myth-like and cool, yet the creators choose the name 'Pandora' obviously signifying their alligience to the dark side in order for all mankind that visits that site to be bombarded by contextual advertising, which, IMO is the most evil type of advertising to ever be invented.

This also points to a general direction in which proves Pandora being evil.

If the site had choosen to use another type of advertising, mayhaps subliminal, then there might have been a chance at this question having any fucking thing to do with anything we might possibly be interested in/care about/know about/want to read about/have heard of.

But since the hidden advertising method was instilled upon as contextual, ovbiously I think we can all agree that Pandora is evil, and also that I don't give a fuck about this evil empire conquering my local zip code area any time soon.

I can see places to go and things to do with the above but I'm so sleepy and incoherent that I'm not even gonna bother.

I imagine mythologists make jokes about "Pandora's box" the same way archeologists make jokes about "Homo erectus."
