Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 1:03 PM Cross-hairs Looks like O&A are preparing to kick some Aceman ass. Yesterday on Opie & Anthony's XM part of their show the boys played Adam's segment with Anne Coulter. Opie: Finally he did something entertaining. Jimmy: Good times...careful Ope, we all know how strong the Adam Carolla Army is.Opie: It's well known in the industry that his show is a disaster, and will soon be replaced, if not by us then by somebody else. It's clear O&A have their eyes on Adam's markets, and I don't know if Adam has the radio 'battle skills' and organized fan base to prevent this.
I had higher hopes for TACS, and am disappointed in the mostly lame bits, and perplexed over the selection of Shekie Damasheck to be basically a cohost. The show is way too structured and I had hoped Adam would have had a funnier more creative show. Still I don't want O&A to take over the west coast, b/c Adam's show is better than most morning shows, but unfortunately not nearly as funny as O&A. -- —Next Caller!

Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 1:28 PM I kind of hope the TACS is put out of its misery (and us out of our Stryker misery) soon. Adam would be great in the morning if he didn't do the crazy morning zoo that everyone else does in the morning and just focused on interacting with callers or whatever. I can sort of see the wisdom of starting a Stern-like show in LA, but it'sa not working. They've had over 6 months now. If O & A take over I won't care. —bguirk |

Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 1:35 PM Well even if they did put Adam out of his misery, there's still a Non-Compete Clause in his contract [there is with most radio and tv guys...I'd be willing to be he has one too] and those generally last between 6 months and a year and a year [maybe more just based on all the money Adam's getting]. —andrewwagner777 |

Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 1:37 PM 1. o&a and are a walking gimmick. 2. Their sarcasm about the Aceman Army is an incredibly transparent veil for fear. Why? Because while, they can be funny, NO ONE respects them. Thus, the loyalty of their fans could evaporate at any moment. While Adams fans on the other hand, believe in him to stick to his guns. 3. Adam alone would wipe his ass with o&a and jim norton. 4. o&a are extreme assholes of an insincere type. Chumps. Oops, I mean chumps. —AbsolutCarib |

Maybe Ace would just take the time though--he did just have a couple of kids. 3. Adam alone would wipe his ass with o&a and jim norton.
Agreed-but he's not doing that show now. The current incarnation of TACS needs to be wiped off the face of radio and how. —bguirk |

Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 2:36 PM i don't care one bit if TACS get cancelled and replace by O&A (which i'd never listen to anyway) The only benefit of TACS sticking around would be that perhaps, after some --cough-- years, maybe it'd get built up a bit and be more entertaining than it currently is. but i wouldn't really hold much hope out for that. likely adam would be done with radio and get into TV or something, I'd guess - maybe just production. ah well, whatever.. —ralp99 |

Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 2:53 PM Edited Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 3:07 PM OnA are just optimistic hacks in the same mold as Mancow (bash every disc jockey and their material but then turn around and use their stuff), there's not a chance in hell they'd succeed on the west coast and I seriously doubt they'd ever get the chance to either. Adam is just going to take his show to Sirius if CBS fires him, so he's going to be on the ACS on CBSRadio for at least 2-3 years yet —Population Override |

Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 5:43 PM Population Override, I hope you're right. Howard Stern's show was the only one that could make it happen in the east and west coast. O&A are douches to talk about Adam that way. Anthony didn't really say anything, and he is the talented one on the show. He basically carries the whole entire show. Opie is a douche hack who shouldn't be critisizing any talent. The most untalented broadcaster in history. Jim is a good stand-up. Idunno. —Faygo |

Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 7:59 PM I guess I'm in a minority because I hate neither TACS nor Dameshek. The show is a bit cornball but still heads and shoulders above most morning radio, at least in my area (washington dc). MYy complaints with TACS are stuff like bits where we're supposed to laugh at Ozzie talking funny or all the Fat Tad stuff. The show could do with more callers and less structured games and guests. And the Adam's kids call-in bit annoys the hell out of me. The only radio I listen to are NPR and TACS, and of course Loveline when they get a suitable cohost. I listened to O&A once for about 30 seconds and thought they were obnoxious. I'm not sure if Adam in front of a mic by himself is such a great idea. He seems to come back to a lot of the same stuff when left to his own devices. Traffic, left turn arrows, suckyness of Prince, Junior College, pussy politicians, et cetera. I like the segments where Adam and the crew talk about stuff that is interesting in general, like with the game 'tell me something I don't know'. But I'm guessing that's not really a crowd pleaser since it's not funny or titillating. —ProfessorCarbuncle |

Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 8:44 PM I concur with ProfessorCarbuncle, except that I kind of like the segments with Adam's kids. Ozzie seems like a nice guy but he ain't funny, and Fat Tad is a totally unappealing personality. Plus, they're going to this Perez Hilton (?) guy way too often. There's starting to be WAY too much mind-numbing bottom-of-the-barrel Hollywood gossip crap on this show. That said, while TACS still needs a good bit of polishing, and it's definitely not as good as Loveline in its heyday, I still like it okay. It's either this, or no more Adam at all. The fantasy that he would ever go back to Loveline is just that. People really need to let that idea go. —LloydLungs |

Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 1:09 AM Never cared for Stern, and Opie and Anthony are the same as Stern. All three of those assholes go on and on about "this is what this show is" and "this is what this show isn't." and "this show is great everything else sucks." You Americans are so lucky, I actually like all of the shows in different ways, I can only download the selections of Adams shows made available on the westwood none site as all the other sites i used to get full shows from have been shut down. I am listening to Ron & Fez (Fez's Parents Party) as I type this. I think they are really funny, It's strange to me that Ron & Fez seem to need O&A to move thier career forward as I prefer them to O&A but the fact is O&A are popular. They, like Stern have periods of hilarity and periods of over bearing dullness but over all I find them worth listening to. Kevin & Bean are fine, harmless and they keep me in touch with new music as I now hardly ever listen to music radio anymore. Adam's show is a mile away from loveline in it's prime but loveline with out Adam is just 85% dull and I can barely be bothered to even download let alone actually listen to these shows, I also was listening to an old loveline show (from Jan 2001) in which Adam was alone with a guest no Dr Drew or Dr Bruce and that was crap as well. LoveLine with Carolla and Drew was the Zeitgeist the rest is just better than nothing. —AceRockollaisAce |

I listen to TACS and John Holmberg's morning Sickness. Holmberg is pretty funny I can't ding him to any other show I've listen to. They do a lot of impersonations of course but it's just funny local radio. They are on the station that plays loveline, 98kupd. It's a rock/metal station. http://www.98kupd.com/ There's some really funny shit on there if you click on Morning sickness and click on Guadalupe squares and mp3's. They always have great contest, the milf contest being my fav. —rAnCIDsICk@!!! |

Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 5:02 PM Edited Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 5:09 PM Why would he go to Sirius? What type of show would he do? Stern did not really offer him a job, nor would he fit into either Stern channel. Considering that Mancow just got fired, and with O&A and Stern going to satellite there is a vacum in terrestrial radio morning talent. No matter how large satellite grows there will always be a market for over the air radio because some people will never switch. I guess they could put him on Sirius Stars or one of the comedy channels, but Sirius has signed so many high profile deals and yet to turn a profit. The CEO said they are finished with signing multi million dollar deals. If he did a Loveline type show, IT WOULD SUCK! Think about, no Dr. Drew, and no screwed up but entertaining teenagers calling (think about it, if someone does not change the battery in their smoke detector, do you think they subscribe to satellite radio?) —Jay84 |

Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 5:05 PM When did Mancow get fired? And why?? The only thing I know about him is that he has the radio show, on his website you can download some of his on air celebrity interviews. He sounds exactly like every other radio guy, besides Ace. The longest I ever listened to him was when he made an appearance on Loveline on 7/03/03, where he mentioned that he had sex with 30 women in one day. —AbsolutCarib |

Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 5:10 PM Edited Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 5:14 PM Mancow's contract at Q101 was not renewed, so his last show there will be Friday. Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 12:07 AM If Ace were to lose his morning show I don't think he'd go back to radio. He'd never return to loveline unless it was to plug something. He's worth to much now and I find Ace to full of pride to want to host the show again. I imagine that the people at Westwood or whoever does the contract writing would probly offer him much lower then he was making when they offered him that crap offer to begin with. Also with the inclusion of his new film, Ace would more likely stick to tv and film. Especially if "The Hammer" is a big hit. Box office wise it will be because all loveline fans will see it and that there is a bunch of dollars. —rAnCIDsICk@!!! |
