Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 11:34 AM That's Overeaters Anonymous, and it's not just fat people, a lot of people with eating disorders go to those as well. Cause often binge eating and starving are two sides of the same coin, so the same 12 step process seems to be effective. —goldberry99 |

Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 12:54 AM I had to go to AA as a part of my DUI drug/alcohol counseling program. It really sucked balls for my trip. I appreciate that it's there because it helps people but it was really depressing to hear all these people in their late 40's and up talk about losing everything. It seems they stop drinking and pick up smoking after that. I went to 5 meetings and didn't relate to it because of the age difference. If there were people there more relative to my age group it would probly help a little more but more often than not people have to hit rock bottom in order for the steps to really work. Either way the beer I had on the way home after the meetings was really cold and refreshing on those hot summer days. —rAnCIDsICk@!!! |

Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 1:10 AM Edited Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 1:12 AM ya rly. they need to split the AA crowd into the cool/hot and lame/ugly groups. the lame chain smoke and drink tons of coffee. they "get in touch" with their sponser. the cool group gets all the klonopin and ambien they can handle and a "hook up" service. —plurry |
