Warped tour wrap up

NOFX is fucking gay. Pretty much the number one reason I went to warped tour in 109 degree weather (nearly every band commented on it being so fucking hot) yesterday, and ten minutes after I get there I see "NoFX will not be performing today due to a family emergency." Family emergency my ass, I was pissed.

Oh well it was still really fun, I'd advise anyone to go because 60 something bands for 30 bucks is totally worth it. If you do go, make sure to see Zebrahead they are one of best bands there. I felt really bad though, they were the last band to play at about 7:45 and there were only like 50 people watching them. And they played on the smallest stage, the Volcom stage, and Matt the lead singer was sick but they still played, unlike a certain band *ahem* 18 Visions *ahem* who cancelled cause the main guy got sick. They were really good though and Matty gave me a can of his official canned tour water, his playlist, and a pick.

Underoath and Rise Against were also really really good, the circle pit during "Give it All" was amazing. HelloGoodbye sucked ASS they were so gay and their stage presence is stupid, not funny. Motion Shitty Soundtrack sucked as well, it was hilarious watching skinny nerds trying to mosh to them, lmao. The Casualties were really good too, but the main guy got all the Fresno beaners excited when he started singing La Cucaracha and one of them poured half of a Coors lite on me. Silverstein sucked, Senses Fail, Helmet, and the Pink Spiders were decent, Chiodos was pretty good but I lost my hat. I felt like a complete fag watching The Academy Is... because they are such a chick band. The chick from Paramore was only 15! I thought that was crazy. Hmmm, what else, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, lol they were pretty lame. Oh I caught most of Less than Jake they were pretty good they made fun of American Idiot by Green Day it was awesome. Aiden sucked, and I found a really good new band called Gym Class Heroes. Anti-Flag were hella gay with their anti-Bush on stage protest, we get it, you don't like Bush, you don't like war, seriously though, enough, nobody cares anymore. I caught one song by Against Me! it was pretty good. Oh and I saw Thursday, they were good, and I love The Living End's new stuff. I think that's it. It was really fun, but I think overall last year was better, the whole screamo (Underoath, Aiden, Thursday, Chiodos) punk (NoFX, Less than Jake, Zebrahead, Casualties) mash-up was kinda weird.

The best part was the giant firehose they had spraying up water 30 feet into the air the entire time. Not really the best part, but w/e. Dude, afterwards we went to McDonalds and I got a 42 oz soda and drank 3 and a half cupfuls of Powerade, no joke. So god damn hot in this god damn sity.

I think it's lame that you think Joan Jett is lame. And my sister really likes The Academy Is. My mom has seen them three times in concert. She's hardcore, man.

I always get Against Me and Rise Against confused. I know I like one of them but I can never remember.

I'm not into punk rock so I can't say.
If you had a good time kewl.

I'm looking foward to the Family Value tour.

I saw korn on their last tour w/ MUDVAYNE! But it's been a while since
I've seen the DEFTONES, I can't wait to get in the pit or just chill and
watch all the strippers come out to play.

Give yourself 5 or 6 years and see if you still like seeing 41 minutes sets with bands that have had no sound checks/sleep and are barely making any money and music is bleeding over from other stages to form a yucky sonic stew. It's always too fucking hot at those summer fest shows and some fat sweaty guy always brushes up agsinst you. Water is a mere $5 a bottle. You couldn't pay me to go to one these days. I know--let's take the Lollapalooza idea which was already too crowded and double it! Fantastic. Maybe I'd slip in after 6:30 and catch the headliners, but I'd rather go down to SXSW if I wanted to catch that many bands in such a short preiod of time.

I looked at the Warped compilation CD at work last night, and I couldn't find a single band that I liked except for Relient K. So...that's just my $.02.

i'm with bguirk almost 100% on these summer outdoor fests.
i equate these events to getting mugged, beat down and left for dead in the desert while listening to lousy live versions of lousy songs performed by lousy bands i've (mostly) never heard of.

it would take a free ticket and maybe some backstage access to get me to go.

Cobra Starship could beat up anybody on The Warped Tour.

Snakes on a plane is going to rule the planet and Sam Jackson will official be our
lord. I don't know how people do the summer festival thing out here in PHX, it's so fucking hot and I know some of the show's are held on the asphalt.
But I'll find out when I go to family values.

Silverstein and Aiden happen to be some of my favorite screamo bands. I'm surprised that you said they sucked...

I'm going to see Rancid a week from Friday with Murphy's Law (who I've never heard of), and then the very next night they're playing here again with The Unseen who I love. It sucks. And. Um. Both bands have been on Warped, so that's relevant.
