Monday, May 8, 2006 at 3:38 AM Edited Monday, May 8, 2006 at 3:43 AM Yup, should be done by Aug. (Hopefully) I just started doing the page for it so theres a lot of shit to be done. Yessss, slowly but surely the world will become captivated by my spell. Anywayz, this has 2 songs that we've been doing at the new studio ("Mind Control" & "Las Vegas"). "GODzilla" was done at a seperate Studio before the Iraq war jumped off, so please understand the difference in production quality. I know a lot of people on this board are anti-religious, or simply think it's stupid but yeah, I very spirtual after a lot drama (come on, I'm a minority 2 ;p) but I don't let it govern and control me but guide me through the same shit your going through. Still all I ask is keep an open mind and PLEASE PLEASE be brutally honest. Constructive critiscm is a key to success. So I'm hoping you guys dig it and feel it, if not hey no hard feelings. Feel free to want to add me to your friends list. I'm going to need the help in trying to get it promoted. Thx for checking us out and thx for the future feed back. 1)On Mind Control I'm the 2nd guys that starts off "Cruisin in a low rider caravan" And the 2nd guy after the chorus 2)I'm the 2nd rapper on GODzilla, I was 20 years old and all I'm talking about is us about to go to war. Ironically a few weeks before we bombed bagdad. 3)We also have more gutter shit coming soon. Also you check our studio out at www.Lifecityproductions.com

Monday, May 8, 2006 at 4:40 AM I didn't have the patience to listen to all of Mind Control, started developing ADD about a minute in, and the very beginning of it is...a little hard to process, sounds like 10 people all talking at once but not entirely in unison. But I did like GODzilla pretty well. —catloaf |

Monday, May 8, 2006 at 11:15 AM Edited Monday, May 8, 2006 at 12:15 PM Can't offer too much criticism but here's Working link for those too lazy to copy / paste - http://www.myspace.com/thcphx I thought Mind Control was pretty good. The intro to GODzilla seemed a bit slow / inharmonious to me (though I'm guessing that was deliberate and it sounded a lot better to me the second time I heard it). Wow - you can really hear the difference between the two studios (there are a lot more layers in Mind Control and they blend together *much* better than the ones in GODzilla). I liked your rap a bit more than the other guy's but both were decent. Can't see "Las Vegas" so can't offer any feedback on it. Not sure if that'll be much help or not but sounds pretty good to me (like Laith, not quite to my taste but not bad at all). By the way - do you guys have a label? If not, I've heard a few good things about CD Baby. They have a small up-front fee ($35, I think) but will put you on most of the major online stores. They also have some tips for marketing yourselves that you might want to take a look at (I know next to nothing about the stuff but at least some of the tips seem reasonable). If you haven't done it already, you might try dropping a message to some other people who've done successful self-promotion. These guys did a pretty good job, IMO. There are a ton of others out there. Of course, there are a bunch of other indy labels to look at out there and you guys have probably researched all that stuff yourselves already. Anyway, good luck with your album :D —anobody |

Monday, May 8, 2006 at 11:36 AM Who produced your album? and how much did you have to pay? Are you singed on a Independent label, or minor, major? Ya know if i were you i would submit a demo to Machine Shope records, owned by Linkin Park, its a branch of Warner Bros. They're currently looking for new artist i believe. Well good luck with your debut, i'll keep my eyes on you! I'm expecting big things from you in the future!! (Ha i sound like JJgold) —adams_babymomma |

Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 1:38 AM Well I got the Las Vegas track back up now, I deleted by mistake. As for a label, were considering just doing it ourselves. Get a deal on mass producing cd's or take the time and burn them and do the whole parking lot slang and sell em' out the trunk like so many others. Also I recently ran into a old high school kid I used to sell dope too and it turns out he's does promotions. So he's going to line us up with a couple of gigs. BUT we were always looking into other avenues. We seem kind of blessed at the fact that we made good with the guy that runs the studio. We're his spec project for the year and he's always waving fee's on hours and misc. shit. Usually we pay $15 an hour compared to the $50-55. he charges everyone else or he'll just not charge us for a few hours. In all reality we don't want to be just hip hop, I listen to to much metal to not dabble in other shit. The studio we're at is actually a rock studio not hip hop. So we found a really good drummer who has a band and we're bringing him in next to slam on the electric drum set we have there. Also were going to have some friends that are an awesome reggae band come thru and jam with us. So in the end, were looking to blend all the music that influences us. And pray to god that we don't get lumped into the whole P.O.D. Limp bizkit linkin park types. I can live with Rage Against the Machine. But the others, fuuuuuccccckkkk. Some of my favorite metal bands are Mudvayne, Soulfly, Deftones, Mushroom head, Non-point etc. I would like to head more in those directions in term of our sounds with the heavy shit.

Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at 3:51 PM Edited Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at 3:55 PM Enjoyed listening to your music...seems like you are being pro-active in putting it out there. Nice hooks, pretty tight beats. For an initial listen, I give it 7.5/10 and that is coming from a homemade brew veteran. "As she sips my piss...." -Las Vegas YUCK!! If you want to go the Deftones route, you need to tune your guitars down, start screaming, and make sure that you get the tightest drummer in the business. If you are interested in making a synthesized jam like "Digital Bath" then start experimenting with playing things backwards. Also, you need to get the bass more actively involved in your beats. There is a severe lack of bass in all three of your hooks. The drums are pretty well done, but you need some jamming bass lines to go with them. Drum and bass...then start layering on the rest. —DogBite |

Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 2:08 AM Edited Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 2:09 AM Well actually Dogbite every one of those tracks are all still done w/keyboards, synthesizers, and pro tools. No drums and strings yet, we got a crew coming in within the next few weeks to try out. As far as playing things backwards, were working on finding a DJ, and I'm intrested in gettin a drum machine. I love the samples Chino and DJ frank been using in Team Sleep. Team sleep is great vegas music 2. —rAnCIDsICk@!!! |

Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 6:51 AM Edited Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 6:54 AM I beg to differ, but I have been bumpin' heads too much with folks in these forums. Team Sleep doesn't do much for me. Deftones coupled with Max Cavalera, that is what I want my Vegas bitches grinding to. Perhaps I did not make myself clear. bASS! bASS! bASS! bASS and drums, dog! After that, any strings you throw over the top will sound dope! With tight bass and a smooth rhythm, you can take a big ol' shit over it and it will still sound good! (Every keyboard can serve a good bass sound! Even a $49.99 Casio piece of shit keyboard from Radio Shack!) Listen carefully to Damian Marley's "Welcome to Jamrock," and anything by Matisyahu to find tight reggae, spiritual hooks to rap on top of. This music will drive my point home. Tighten up on the bASS and drums, throw some strings on top, then focus on your writing. TLC does not count as a lyrical outlet. Keep a journal! —DogBite |
