Friday, May 5, 2006 at 9:11 AM No, I'm not a CBS radio guy. I wish I was because I would have Billy Moses podcast the show instead of clips. You would think that adam being such a big fan of Tivo would see the benefit of podcasting his show with or without the commercials. I don't think he's up on the technology. But I think his minions should be. Honestly, I don't think CBS cares if people podcast the show or track it through bittorrent, its FM radio. What they do care about is when people try to profit from the show through advertising or donations. For that I don't blame them. Does anyone know of any trackers where the show is available? As for newsgroups, Gainrider rules! —jaymiles |

Friday, May 5, 2006 at 10:17 AM Edited Friday, May 5, 2006 at 10:19 AM [since you joined so recently...I doubt if there were a tracker, that anyone would risk telling you about it - so go for the newsgroup] Actually, if you listen to the older shows, Adam is totally against people 'stealing music' by downloading it. So why do you think he would feel any different about it when these people were 'stealing' from him? Mind you, technically I 'stole' the older shows I am listening too. They should though, at least offer online versions of the show. Perhaps as a condensed podcast. I know when it comes to commercials on podcasts, if they only put in one commercial per break...I do not skip them, but by the time they get to the second I have extricated my player, and start skipping. I wouldn't mind the show condensed down to the best 56 minutes (with 4 of commercials). I don't need sports or traffic (news presents a problem, they play music under it that they would have to pay for). Generally the first half hour of the show is pretty slow, cut out some of the stupid bits...and you would have one hell of a tight hour. —Laxdude |

Like da man said ... altho' i travel a lot so it would be great if we could get traffic and weather too. But only if Adam does it, because traffic might be tied up on the 405 and who better to tell us why? If there's a mattress in lanes, rider down, i better find an alternate route. And if it's gonna be chilly who's gonna tell us to wear a sweater? But i did find all of January, for the torrent-impaired and/or collectors. And have we taken a moment today to post thanks to Colin, gainRider, Cpepper and others? Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 4:55 PM The problem is turning the yenc encoded files to a real mp3. Mozilla Thunderbird does not do yEnc, nor do any of the Microsoft readers. Hogwasher does, but it will nag you, then lock down after 2 months. This is Mac by the way. —Laxdude |

If you don't buy it after the trial period is up you can still use it, it just won't be as slick. Actually, if you want good stuff FA's even worth paying for. Good people. Jeebus, i was using Free Agent on WFWG 3.11 way back in the 90's ... still works fine when i snarf TACS and LL at client sites! —Hans Langer |

Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at 8:28 PM Edited Tuesday, May 16, 2006 at 8:41 PM Thank you Hans. You're very welcome, of course, but pls remember to thank colin, GainRider, CP, beachMan and the other first-rate d00Dz who are making this possible for many of us. Thank them early and often, anywhere you post, right? Like, maybe at the end of whatever you post? Or somewhere during a rant, sneaky like, just so they know? Shout out to Laxdude while i'm at it, and like 'da man says, keep it on the down-low and do not, repeat, DO NOT blab and yak here on this forum about who, what, where and how or it's all gonna dry up and you're gonna be stuck with Opie and that other 'tard, right? That helmet is not a chair, gentlemen (and i use that term loosely), and watch out for brake lights on the 405 this morning, mattress in lanes, rider down ... best, —Hans Langer |
