In my opinion, this is the better of the two options. He was prepared to die, as a martyr for his cause, despite the fact that by the Jihad standards he would NOT get his 72 virgins, as he died at the hands of the enemy, not in the process of killing the enemy. This way, he gets raped in the ass every single night by the worst of the worst criminals in the system. Honestly, making him suffer rather than doing the "humane" thing by giving him a needle and lulling him to sleep/death is technically more punishment. Now, conversely, if we had executed him in some horrific way on National Television (I.E. being eaten alive by fire ants, broadcast LIVE ON FOX!) now THAT would have been a more appropriate sentence.

I don't care how he's killed, just put him down. The guy's a monster. This is why we have cap pun.

I agree with Andrew. Also, as Adam has ranted about so many time in the past, lethal injection is a very peaceful, painless death. Far more painless than the "natural" deaths most of us will experience. Let him rot. I only regret that he doesn't get thrown in the clink with a bunch of hard convicts and let the have their way with him. He'll be in isolation. Also, if we killed him, America would become an even bigger symbol of cruel justice to our allies in Europe. And we don't want him to gain Martyr status in the radical Islamic world.

By the way-- the evidence that Moussaoui was intended to be the 12th highjacker is not as strong as most people think. He wanted to kill Americans, and he loved to talk shit about was a bigshot terrorist he is. He claimed that he was going to highjack a plane with Rich Reid, the shoebomber. Evidence shows the two never met, and no such plans were in the works, although Moussaoui did enroll in flight training.

People who think death by injection is somehow worse than life in prison are mind-bogglingly stupid. If you want this guy to get what he deserves, this is the better choice.

EDIT: Of course, if you're like me, you put very little value on the form of human life, and would make the death penalty the result of most serious crimes for the purposes of containment, damage control, lower "maintenance costs", and just clearing up the planet in general. But that's just me.

At what point do you eliminate a person? It's too relative to establish a satisfactory policy.

Life in prison for this prick, when I would be happy if we executed everybody who had stickers on their cars, 6 months for babyfuckers when I would be just fine with the death penalty being handed out for basic restaurant etiquette failures?

What the fuck? From a policy maker's make-everyone-happy point of view, there's no right answer. Life in prison is the default badass thing to do when you don't have the nuts to go out on a limb, and nobody does.

What do you people, as fickleminded voters, want the policy makers to do? It's impossible to satisfy people from a leader's standpoint. Just be happy they don't give him a few bucks and a pat on the back and turn him loose to operate a porno theatre right next to your beloved children's school.

In the case of you who do not breed, my apologies. I had to make a point, and shitty bigeyed kids are the easiest way.

At what point do you eliminate a person?
Good question. But I'd say making it your lifelong goal to conspire to kill as many Americans as possible in a most shocking manner falls somehwere above that bar.

I'm not looking for policy-makers to satisfiy my every whim, I'm looking for the jury to put this guy down and we move on to the next issue.

Well, as much as us U.S. citizens may not like it sometimes, it's more complex than that.

Do I want this guy dead? Sure, I want about a fucking billion others lit up along with him too, ain't gonna happen.

Who makes the choice? Politics IS at play here, regardless of bold Adam-esque statements about juries, and noone gets what they want when everone has to be happy.

I think this really is the lesser evil as much as I want him dead.
It is better that he'll at least have some degree of torture and humilation in prison unless
they put him in a private prison for high profiles like his.
They let him loose on the yard, he'll defenitly catch a shank to the throat, so they
more than likely will put him in private place.
If only we could torture him for the remainder of his natural life would it cool.
Every single moment of his existence, torture. Morning day and night, torture.
Torture him till his mind breaks and he bites his own tongue off in attempt to choke to
death than to wake up to more torture.

If life in prison is really the worse of the two options, why do defense lawyers never argue FOR the death penalty for their client?

If he wants to die then good, that will simply expedite the process.

I don't know - could it be because people are irrational and have an instinctive fear of death?

Because people have retarded backward primitive beliefs about what it is to be alive and what it is to be dead. (EDIT: I.e. what anobody said, but not as nice.)

Wouldn't Moussaoui be in isolated confinement? Which means no ass rape. Sad face.

I'd guess that a guard or two might be willing to accommodate him with a conjugal visit from one or more of his fellow prisoners.

Maybe they want more info out of him?? like tickle him, till he tells them where Bin Laden is.

I wish they could put him on a jet plane, and crash it into some tower, or strap him on a missle and shoot him to Iran!
