Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 4:45 PM Ok...so i decided to do some research on Mandee's hometown (don't ask why). Well judging by thier homepage, it seems like it could be a small town pop 51, 000, and they are not very advanced technically, their page is not professional. There's a whole lotta white people, and most of them are semi-skilled. Also there might be a lot of single people.... which is not a bad thing, since you have white, educated people who are single. So this means that in the near future i will be moving to Townson, Maryland so i can find me a white, educated man. ps: today i saw a white van with the bummer sticker of a confederate flag with the words "IT'S A WHITE THANG" and i was scared. —adams_babymomma |

Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 6:36 PM Edited Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 6:43 PM whoa I spent a large chunk of my growing up years in towson maryland. it's rather preppy. i had to leave. BUT it does have the station WHFS that played loveline for years. it's plenty "technical".. its a little metropolis about 15 minutes outside baltimore city, about 45 minutes from dc. hardly backwoods. —doingdoingdoing |

Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 8:50 PM Towson is a common upper-middle class suburb. You can find towns like it all over the place. I've lived there all my life, but I don't intend to spend the rest of it there. You're correct, Professor. It's nothing special. And I'm sorry you're from Frederick. I still think it's weird that ABM chose to look this up. —mandeemoo22 |

Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 11:51 AM Edited Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 12:29 PM I am somewhat envious of Mandee's City. People from Maryland always seem so intelligent and well educated. Let's looks at some statistics about Towson. - According to city-data.com, Townsonians are pretty well educated. 90.9% have a high school degree, 53.2% have a bachelor's degree, and 24.7% have a graduate or professional degree. Their divorce rate is pretty low, only 7.9%.
- Also accourding to city-data.com it looks like a college town. There's a large spike in the graph of 20 somethings. Not to mention the number of young women is much higher than the number of young men. Game on!
Though rent is a little expensive for me.
- Their average income ($53,775) is higher than the national average ($41,994), according to epodunk.com.
- However, their Gay Index (epodunk.com) is pretty low, rated only at 78 compared to a national average of 100. If the recent research on this topic is correct, and I think it is, Towson's economic future is pretty dim.
- Which is suprising, because the town is somewhat left-leaning. Also according to epodunk.com in 2004 Bush received 155,371 votes and John Kerry received 170,104 votes. In 2000 Bush received 133,033 votes, Al Gore received 160,635 votes, and Nader received 8,544 votes.
Really, ABM, you're bat-shit crazy. Towson Maryland, though it is kind of homophobic, seems like a great place to live. I notice there's no Assyrians there which may be for a good reason. —ZT-In-Heat |

Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 11:21 PM Towson is a college town. It's not that big, but there are two colleges within 5 minutes of my house (goucher and towson university). You say that people from Maryland are well-educated, but that's just outside of Baltimore city. In the city there are some of the highest murder, STD, and drug rates in the country. Towson is pretty liberal though for a mostly white upperclass population. Around my elementary school is mostly Republican. There was one black kid in the school and his name was Bobby Dorsey. He's gay now. Another minority. —mandeemoo22 |

"hey, baby. want some coke?"
