Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at 7:14 PM I get 4 hours of Spanish lit homework assigned every MW; I also have to read 120 pages of Spanish novels a week. Before the semester is over I have to write (in Spanish) a 4-page argumentative essay, a 12-page literary analysis covering two novels, a 5-page essay (*with* presentation) on a short story (minimum 3 book sources for some author even the internet hasn't heard of)..and I still have to present my 4-page paper on Gaudí, which means I need to *make* the presentation for it. I don't even feel like talking about my other classes. So..uh, yeah. Other people have homework. —chix0r |

I have to take accounting, which is something that i will never want to do for a carrer, but i have to take it anyways to get my Business degree in marketing. I know that once i get my B.S in marketing i will never have to do any accounting, so i just dont see the point of it. Do you guys see a thread titled "Birth control debate"? Classes suck in general; lit classes *especially* suck, and even more so when you have to figure out the literal meaning of the words before you can move on to the "interpretation." And I could argue that I won't be using all this literature crap I'm learning once I go back to teaching remedial grammar. —chix0r |

Shitty jobs, etc. The shitty jobs stuff is true (and not getting paid what you deserve cause you're at the lowest rung) but I must say I really love having free weekends and evenings. You can still meet people you just have to do more legwork: join professional societies, groups and clubs, go out more, all that stuff. Part of the reason my wages are so low is because I quit school before finishing. But even my friends that did finish don't get paid that much. It's more.. but not to the point where I envy them. See the whole thing about accounting is that when your a student everything seems confusing, but once you get out of school and do actual accounting, it all makes sense, and you finally see the light.
