When she reads news headlines, she can't pronounce the names of world cities correctly. She's not witty enough to keep up with the show. A poster-child for women getting $0.75 on the dollar. Pluck the name of any other female morning show host out of a hat, and I'm sure they'd be an improvement. That said, I sadistically love it when she's mocked and she falls into sulking silence. And trying to keep up with the morning show just isnt really much of an option for me. Im curious about how Adam is getting along with his new friends on the morning show. Monday, February 13, 2006 at 12:18 AM does anyone have any show dates for when that dumb broad rachel perry gets her feelings hurt?? apparently its happening a lot and i would love to listen to it and laugh hysterically The best example is in the second week, probably around the 4th or 5th show. Adam and the crew get on her case when she suggests hot chicks don't rule out nerds from their potential date list, pointing out that she herself dates some sort of Adonis. I think they used her biography song one or two times later in the show as well, and it's clear she's pissed off. At one point, she asks who painted the bullseye on her chest, and Adam points out that she painted it on herself (he says it pretty gently, though... kind of like your Grandma telling you to quit being a baby). She sulked for the rest of the week, even stepping on Adam's "unrest in the Middle East" bit by asking him if he was going to tell that joke everytime she read the Sharon news story. Amazingly, rather than go Sid Caesar on her, Adam instead went Mr. Miyagi. I think he actually tried to coach her back from Bee Otch Island, walking on egg shells by not teasing her further, telling her she needn't be funny, nor even laugh at Adam's jokes. When he asked her to compile a list of ten things she thinks are funny, I think he sort of won her trust. I think the American Idol bit she did where she played her own song that had previously been pissing her off was proof that she was much more willing to occasionally be the butt of the joke. Unfortunately, that was her sole funny moment that I've heard to date. Her tone of voice is just so confrontational... she apparently can never get used to not getting the hot chick, ass-kiss treatment while on the show. Why Adam would choose a hot chick sidekick is totally bewildering since he has expressed his opinion in the past that hotness and personality are inversely proportional. Maybe it's his laziness gene where he is actually hoping for the show to get cancelled so he won't have to wake up to go to work every morning. —Adam Rant |
