Chrono Trigger for the SNES is mine. If you haven't played it, look around for the ROM and play it on an emulator, it's really worth it.

Back in the c64 days I was a huge M.U.L.E. player. My friend and I would geek out in his basement and play it for hours.

These days it's all about any of the Kyle Katurn Star Wars games.

The Kings Quest series was before its time BTW---it was a sweet game with one of the most infuriating UI's ever imagined.

Leisure Suit Harry is not a "forgotten classic" you fool.

Starcraft
Warcraft 1-3 (and World of Warcraft, I guess, although I only played in the beta test)
Diablo 1 and 2
certain Zelda games (A Link to the Past, Four Swords Adventures, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, the Oracle games)
Halo (durrrr)
Final Fantasy 6
Super Mario World
Perfect Dark

Planescape: Torment is the best game ever made, hands down. Deus Ex and Fallout/Fallout 2 are a close second and tied third, respectively.

Other favorites:
Baldur's Gate 2
Starcraft
Civilization 4
Half-Life 2
SimCity 2000
Rome: Total War

The Genesis ruled. Most games were better back then. I friggin' hate how slow games are now--the boot up time on my PS2 is a major step backward and please don't load up that stupid intro to the game I only need to see once but have to sit through the booting up of the next 200 times I want to play your stupid over-priced game.

I'm with you on M.U.L.E., bguirk. Those were good times. Three other favorites from those days were the Zork trilogy, Impossible:Mission and Bruce Lee.

Other beloved games:
Tecmo Super Bowl
Kung Fu Master
Spy Hunter
Madden NFL (yes, I buy it every year)
Super Mario 1-3
Dr. Mario
Super Contra (up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start)
Donkey Kong Country
Resident Evil 2
Galaga
Ms. Pac Man (much better then the original)

And of course the Atari favorites:
Pitfall
Yars Revenge
ET
Dungeon
Combat

Well, that's off the top of my head anyway, I'm sure there are more that'll come to me.

Hey bguirk, try a gamecube. Or at least, stop playing shitty systems that make you wait through load times, all the time.
Halo is trash. Who likes that game? I've never played it.
Donkey Kong Country was fun, then Banjo Kazooie was possibly the best game ever, but that was the last thing Rare did before the Free Radical boys left. Perfect Dark wasn't finished and it's funny how no-one is bright enough to notice and what have they done since? Mickey Racing for the Gameboy?
Doom was awesome. Quake was fun. Quake II was fun. Quake III was the last good id game.
I like StarCraft but I don't think Blizzard can make games any more. StarCraft Ghost has been delayed for 4 years and now isn't coming out on the Gamecube at all. You could preorder it for the Gamecube in early 2004. What a joke. WarCraft III had nice cinematics, story, atmosphere but the programming was a step backwards from Command & Conquer playability, not forwards. It wasn't so bad with StarCraft but WarCraft III shows they can't/won't make a playable game, only an interactive storybook. Diablo was nice.
Dune II was fun. Command & Conquer, and Red Alert. Even Tiberium Sun and Dune 2000 and Red Alert II. Dune Emperor never got running well enough and Generals wasn't sarcastic. Apparently those dudes are at Petroglyph now, working on a Star Wars C&C type game. I wonder if it will be any good? There was a star wars C&C game by someone else about 4 years ago and it sucked.
The Dig is one of the best things ever. So good. There is nothing infectious about good art or that game would be famous. Such nice music.
The mario and zelda games on the nintendo and super nintendo were fun. And illusion of time and super punch out and games like that. Mario Kart, etc. I had a lot of fun with the hand held two screen donkey kong games back in the day, as did everyone in my neighbourhood and at my school. Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong II. There were a bunch of others like that, I can't remember all of their names. Lots of wasted time. I could clock those games twice, I think, maybe 3 times once on game a, maybe twice once on game b. Lots of wasted time.
Worms was fun, back in 1996. The worms sequels never worked out. Lemmings and Lemmings 2 the tribes were good. The sequels and rereleases were no good. Those dudes did lots of good stuff. They made grand theft auto 1 and 2, then 3 and 4 and 5. I wonder if GTA 6 will be any good. I like GTA 2 the best.
Abuse was fun. I liked the paragraph when you completed it. That was kinda sad.
I hate videogames because they make me feel empty. They waste my time. I waste my time.
Mech Warrior 2 was fun.
It's hard to pick one game as the best ever. The Lion King game on the super nintendo was really good, and there was a simpsons game from around that time with lots of mini games that was fun. Everyone enjoyed trying to make it down the water slide. And i didn't know they had already started putting voice samples in home video games. Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter and others i can't remember the name of were fun at happy hour at the arcade. Maybe the favourite one to pick a central time out of was Zelda for the super nintendo, it was just a time when turning the machine off and going outside and getting it done would have been the best thing to do and every time anyone plays that game and i hear that music i know that again, i know that's true.
There might have even been some energy in that town, that summer. You don't expect it but down at the pool there was some, giggling away. Slumped like death a clean ten years ago now. Ten years past, rather.
and who is left from The Ten Commandments? That is exactly 50 years ago now, freaky. It was 30 odd when I first saw it, and that was a hot lucidity.
You can't salvage anything no matter how much love you gaze with upon it and stuff, and additionally you can't keep all those people alive. They're all dying, they know it, I know it, there's nowhere to go with all of th

Yeah, I'm with you there. Though it's not as bad since I got the wireless controller at Christmas. Now the annoyingly-long-load-time-but-not-long-enough-to-get-snacks isn't a problem since I can play from the kitchen. Yes, this has been a high point of the last few months for me.

There was no level balancing. Some were ridiculously easy, others ridiculuously hard. Especially if you play through on all the difficulty levels. The arcade challenges were so unfinished it's hard to even call them beta. That's why no-one got past challenge 30 or so. You'd need to go through ten different n64 controllers and 5 thumbs to complete them.
The game didn't run. It scraped by most of the time if you played single player with the graphics on normal settings but if you tried any of the hi-res stuff or co-op with a bot or a human player it lagged like your mother in bed. Ridiculous.
Play the TimeSplitters games. Apart from 1, which was unfinished and rushed to market, the games do everything they were trying for in Perfect Dark but had the chance to finish. The hallmark of the Free Radical programmers is making their stuff run on the systems of the day. Period. And it looks better than anything else anyone else does at the time that will actually run on the systems of the time. The hallmark of Rare since they lost their talent is to release the unfinished games by the Free Radical guys, still unfinished, and then to not release anything for 6 years and then to release that Kameo game, which takes about 15 minutes for a retarded 3 yr old to complete in her sleep. Kameo was going to be a game for the 64 but it was way too rough to release. Nintendo decided to finish what would become Starfox on the gamecube as an inhouse project. Jet Force Gemini is probably the worst of the Rare games released after the fall. The game is fantastic until you get about half way through, then it just stops. Like a grey abyss. What is that? There's just nothing to do. It doesn't even end.

anyway, yeah, the lag, the unbalanced difficulty. Hey, the grid was horrible too. Way too small. Much improved in the TimeSplitters games. the level,i think it's 5 or 6, of TimeSplitters 3, set in the future shows what they wanted to do with Perfect Dark. And it's fun, and it doesn't lag. I dont' think they finished banjo tooie either, but it was mostly done. But they certainly didn't get to put in all their easter eggs, especially not the ones promised at the end of banjo 1.
This new perfect dark is an example of what happens when the free radical guys don't even start the game, let alone finish. Just an unplayable abominiation, creatively bankrupt, a joke from start to finish. And some people have even been calling them out on it. Rare died years ago but no big deal has ever been made about it by the gaming media. It's not like they were the single biggest non-manufactuer publishing house ever and were making video games a household item on a par with television and music and stuff. Then they disappeared back into nothing again.
They had such a nice logo.
Wait, what was the question?
My cock is huge!
When I think of perfect dark now, i can remember the horror horror that was early 2002 so i don't. i prefer to remember the relatively juxtaposed winter of 2003, around august when chris made the tiger buddha album. He's mildly recanted the artistic viability of that record now but i still fucking love it. Just love it to death.
And furniture shopping, and wanting to have sex most specifically celebrity lindy booth, and it just never came true which was a genuine shock to me and my genitals.
But i wrote some really, really, really awesome verse about it on a slice of tissue paper which is folded away safely in a corner for safe keeping but i daren't read it again lest it not have the same glimmer that it had yesterday.
They used to be such strong hands

The original Myst was fun, too. I had to actually buy this one as I only had dialup at the time and this thing spanned several cds. The rest were pulled off the newsgroups as they were pretty small files. Never really was into game consoles.

The latest Wolfenstein games were not made by id, you fat sweaty swollen cock. You're infected! John Romero was fired, John Carmack got run over by the technology curve, they don't make shit anymore. They're a publishing house at best now, and the Wolfenstein games were hot up until the point they crashed. Which was all the time, and I had a store bought copy on a brand new fast computer back in 2001. I don't like games that won't run because the goddamn programmers can't get anything good looking to run on the systems of the day.
So fuck id. Fuck them in their sellout arseholes. Ooh, let's all go shareware! Wait, I've got money now, fuck you guys. Share my cock.

The basis of the Zelda games is to have Link go on an adventure. How does it feel to be a loser among the loser world of people who play too much videogamessss?

Wasn't there a game based on 9/11 or maybe it was a natural disaster, it was a Japanese game that was headed for a U.S. release but I'm not sure if it ever made it. Buildings were falling down, there were fires and explosions, the main character runs around, I guess to save people, or to get important documents from fire proof boxes, can't remember what the game was about, really. Anyway, even though I'm being completely vague about it, if someone knows what game I'm talking about, speak up.

SNES. I had the most fun playing it with my homies, drinking 40s, and being in 7th grade.

The latest Wolfenstein games were not made by id

—MajandraFan

I fucking said Wolf-ET not all Wolfenstein games you dumb fuck, secondly u can't say anything about me talking about games because you are on this thread more than anyone. Why don't you get some friends instead of attacking people you don't know over shit you are wrong about anyways, you fucking idiot.

And another thing to all of you who said i was wrong about Zelda, why the hell would they make a game named after Zelda and not include her. The basis is to rescue Zelda not just for Link to go on an adventure. The Zelda name is being whored out by idea-less Nintendo developers who can't come up with a new game concept. Same thing is happening with Mario. The are slapping the name on any game they can to try and move units.

and add crystalis to the game list.

Hey dumb fuck, the game isn't centered around Zelda, despite the title. It's centered around Link. Ignore the fucking name. Plus, if you REALLY want to get nitpicky, Zelda did appear in a flashback in Majora's Mask. The basis of the games is not supposed to be solely rescuing Zelda; that's just a silly notion your own one-dimensional mind has conjured up. Feel free to ignore that too.

You are correct about the Mario franchise being whored out, but the same thing is not happening with the Zelda franchise, not since the Philips CD-i games, and that was a long time ago.

I've never played them myself, so I'm not going to argue. But I have to say that, considering the opinions I've seen about those games, the entire internets may just come after you howling for your blood for saying that.

Oh yeah and Dodgeball was a kick as(sic) game on the nintendo.

Hell yeah, i forgot about that one. That was one of the first games I ever played, when I was only 5 or 6. I loved how they would die and go to heaven if you hit them hard enough. River City Ransom was also a sick game.

lol, and I was totally kidding about those shitty games. I actually played one at my friends house and it was so stupid, the voice-overs were so bad, it was so demeaning.

What the Hell is that?! Link doesn't smile!

that shit is ugly.

uh, lets see, a survey taken said that 99% of kids over the age of 14 have played video games. So I'm guessing that they aren't ONLY for nerds anymore. It's pretty damn mainstream now, so maybe you can stfu for me, kthxbye.
