Monday, February 6, 2006 at 12:52 AM There are a couple rants that I thought were poorly reproduced on ACS:
- Red arrows. Ace ranted hard about it on ACS, but I thought he did a poor job of describing the conditions under which one should do it. Specifically, the other lanes in your description must be green. He never voiced this critical piece of the idea on ACS.
- Hobopower. On LL, a key reference point in hobopower was that at 50 hobo, the average person pukes. On ACS, the 50 hobo reference point is replaced with the lamer and more subjective "a cat crapping on a white-hot hibachi."
- Junior college. No complaint here, just eagerly waiting for Ace to rag on junior college.
I'm hoping that ACS's wider audience will add momentum to Aceman's ideas, and I'm a bit irritated that he's not articulating them as well as he did on LL. —Full Meat |

Monday, February 6, 2006 at 11:01 AM I think the problem is he's trying too hard to be funny. On Loveline he didn't have to be funny, they could just take calls or talk about stuff. When the rants are forced, they suck. —Hashmeer Shashmeer |

Monday, February 6, 2006 at 11:06 AM Edited Monday, February 6, 2006 at 11:06 AM I agree with hash--plus Ace is limited in his time so he tries to get in everything before Dave interupts or it's time for traffic and weather. On Lovelines he could just bulldoze over Drew and go off on jc's for 20 minutes. Then he could come back from break and do another 20. I really miss those days. —bguirk |

Monday, February 6, 2006 at 12:36 PM Whoever runs that show decided EVERYTHING must be a gag otherwise it cannot be funny. The irony is when Adam does go on unplanned rants its 10x as funny as forced red turn rants or hobo power. BTW whats a hibachi? —rhino369 |

Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at 6:18 PM I'm a bit irritated that he's not articulating them as well as he did on LL. 'cos he doesn't have a Dr. Drew to stimulate his mind. the other two "co-hosts" are more like "yes-men" (except Rachel isn't a dude). —j4k3 |

Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at 6:20 PM Edited Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at 6:40 PM I am surprised to say this, but I think the show is worse with Rachel out of the studio. Damesheck is talking too much and is more of a yes man, Rachel on the other hand at least acts as a foil to Adam. I really wonder if Big Tad might not make a better sports guy. Dave just seems too close to Adam's style. Drew was the nice guy smart straight man, Jimmy was the affable friendly guy...where is the conflict with Dave? I am sure he is a nice guy...but I wonder if he is the wrong guy for the job. —Laxdude |
