Dude.. *looks around*.. you a cop? Cause you gotta tell me now or it's entraptment..

No one will ever tell you, and I personally know that there is no site that you could find it even if it did exist, which it doesn't. Just give up. Do it now. Move to the west coast and listen to the radio.

Back in the day when I lived in the dorms I had to dial out with this thing called a modem. I could get out to my account at blazing speeds of 5600 baud (up from the 2400 I had at home). A dialup account is probably 8 bucks a month now? Wireless through Verizon is probably 60-80 bucks a month if you can swing it. Someone at your school probably has a wifi cloud that you can probably reach on campus if you have a card or a laptop you can take to an access point. These are all ways to beat your dorm firewall and dowload shows. There are other sources for the show, but for reasons discussed in several other threds we aren't supposed to post them here.

I'm so sorry that you have to go through an extra step to download a high-quality, commercial-free recording that someone has made available for you.

Your university may block DC++ but it sounds like your laziness is blocking NNTP.

For your own sake, examine your sense of entitlement.

Everytime this topic comes up, I post about the high costs involved with http downloads. It is summarily passed over for some reason. I hold no grudge. But the info needs to be posted. People need to understand http downloads are not free. The more people do it, the more bandwidth is required. Thus, more money is required to continue giving the show away.

Each AC Show is 70 mb.

Every 14 downloads is 1 mb.

The tracker averages about 250-275 downloads of T-ACS per episode.

That's 17 gb per episode.
85 gb per week.
340 gb per month.

Remember that the tracker is infinitesimally harder than http downloads, so if I offered a site with http instead and had unlimited bandwith, I imagine the snatches per show would be at least 75% more.

Lets put it this way:

since October 2005, the tracker has seen just over 6 tb of transfer. 6 terabytes. Even I can't afford that with normal http downloads. And I have a sugar mama.

I Say Good Day:  The fact that you said web downloads are "a million times easier than newsgroups" clearly indicates that you don't use newsgroups.  If you did, you too would realize that it's just as easy as getting it from a web site.

Every day I go to alt.binaries.great and download the show.  It's almost exactly like going to a specific website address every day, except you go to a specific newsgroup every day instead.  How you got the opinion that it's difficult, I'll never understand.

And yes, with newsgroups you also do a Right Click, then Save As.

You guys are a bunch of lazy f*cks....and to be honest, the NGs (newsgroups)are super easy.....so what if you have to click the mouse one or two extra clicks!!!
Colin's right, http downloads are not cheap for the web sites who host them out there!!!

I have a reason that might compel some folks to give the newsgroups a shot:

An unending river of free, categorized porn.

oh please, can i download movies that aren't worth watching?

when you can get good stuff then i would maybe chase that stuff down. but good stuff is made by such hand-to-mouth people that any kind of piracy would crush them forever. not like those swarthy hollywood piggies.
eat the pig, eat the pig!
