You would spend more time getting the software and signing up for the tracker than it would take to download the show. Of course, the fact that the speeds are faster than the hub is a given. The hub has it's place, for sure, but for instant gratification, the tracker is the way to go. EDIT: spelling —Colin |

Thursday, September 8, 2005 at 9:55 AM Newsgroups can be free, but most of the time are not. Plus the learning curve on them is crazy. A lot of the time, you have to combine files after the download. Plus, the life span of a file available can be kind of short. At the tracker, the show from July 26 still has seeds. Finally, Mike doesn't post there. His files rule. —Colin |

Thursday, September 8, 2005 at 10:51 AM Your right about the cost. Fortunately for me I have unlimited newsgroup access from my ISP......but I pay $40 a month for my cable modem connection, so they BETTER give me my newsgroup access!!!
Fortunately, Ive never had to combine files after I download, the guys who post the files have already done all of the dirty work. But if I had to, it's not a big deal.
Your absolutely right about the life span of the file.....I guess BT and newsgroups both have there selling points....that's why I use either one depending on my needs.
Your right about the learning curve of the newsgroups.....everytime I try explaining to somebody about it, they look at me like I have two heads.....then they always ask me, "what webisite is that?" —babyivan |

I had planned on calling in for the first time-but I heard Adam was going to be out of town, and I really wanted to talk with him before he leaves the show-now I LOVE DAG, but didnt want to miss Adam, so my dumbass decided to call next week.
