Friday, September 2, 2005 at 8:51 AM Edited Friday, September 2, 2005 at 8:53 AM Does anyone else realize the irony? New Orleans has a French heritage, what with baton rouge and all. and now it's flooded... it went from a french city to an italian (venice) one. I say the cultural shift is a welcomed one. Plus it killed all those goddamn poor people. All those Chinese and (Shit where do Jews come from)Russian (read: niggers and spics) immigrants who do not contribute to society. And no, I would not say that to their faces, I am only a racist when I have the cloak of technology to sheild me from the greasy, sweaty, poo-infested-water-soaked minorities with guns and penises. —Ego Tard Manhammer |

Friday, September 2, 2005 at 9:55 AM hahahhahaa that's the worst/best post ever! " Chinese and (Shit where do Jews come from)Russian" genius. Prof, i think your right about the race thing though, or rather, it looking like a race thing but not really being one. you take any race and enslave them and them let them go but don't give them any rights and then lynch them and make laws saying they can't use the same bathroom as you they're gonna be a little hostile. they were continually fucked with mercilessly until just a few decades ago and now they've asked for one or two things to help them out of the poverty WE PUT THEM IN like affirmative action and we don't even wanna give them that, and now nature comes in and floods everyone who's poor, and we made them poor and don't wanna help them at all, and they're pissed and taking it out irrationally. not a good thing but not completely without reason. and now i'd like to rant about people against affirmative action. DOES IT REALLY AFFECT YOU THAT MUCH YOU IGNORANT INBREAD, COUNTRY BUMPKIN, SISTER LOVIN WHINERS???????? i DARE somebody to post about anyone they'ver ever even HEARD OF who lost a job to affirmative action!!!! i worked for the government for 6 years and I NEVER HEARD OF ANYONE WHO DIDN'T GET A JOB BECAUSE AFFIRMATIVE ACTION GAVE IT TO SOMEONE ELSE! my damn point is, it's not that big a program that every ignorant redneck i talk to has to talk shit about it talking about losing their job! ignorant people have this distorted view of affirmative action where they think it's a law that says half of all white people have to be fired so dumb blacks who have no traing can be hired and fill their spots! i'm pretty sure all affirmative action is trying to do is say "hey, if you have a hundred employees at your office, when your hiring people, please try to make 6% of those new hires black or asian or whatever, just to try and keep it all fair so that whites don't take EVERY GOD DAMNED JOB AND THEN WE KEEP PERPETUATING THE POOR BLACK THING THAT WE HATE SO MUCH!" IF WE HATE POOR BLACK PEOPLE ROBBING US, HOW'S ABOUT WE GIVE THEM A JOB SO THEY WON'T HAVE TO ROB ANYMORE! TOO MUCH TO ASK????????? TOO CRAZY OF A SCEAM TO WORK???????????? but even after all that, we have the tiniest affirmative action programs that are so small i couldn't name ONE DAMN person who's ever been affected by it either way even, and yet, there's still this horrible stigma associated with it. but i guess i'm crazy. hopefull this post isn't about anybody here cause for the most part i would think LL fans are a little more open minded about things, i should post it on a country western forum or something where it'll go to the people who should be seeing it. but than they'd probably just post back: NIGGER LOVER!!!!!! or something. —adamdontgo |

Friday, September 2, 2005 at 10:09 AM Edited Friday, September 2, 2005 at 10:10 AM adamdontgo, I agree with you on this thread. In fact, I'd say a lot of white people from urban/suburban centers aren't keenly aware that white povery is so much more pervasive than black poverty in so many parts of the country. I used to live in west virginia and it's hard times there too. Poverty is the destructive force here. And let's face it, black people have had a raw deal in this country any way you slice it. Their city is crippled and no one's been coming to help so they're going to help themselves. I might act the same. But the violence, shooting, and raping is unnacceptable from any group of people. When that city finally dries out we're gonna point our fingers at the violence as the reason why more relief wasn't brought in sooner. —ProfessorCarbuncle |

Friday, September 2, 2005 at 12:00 PM It's really been the govenor of Louisiana who's been holding up relief efforts because she's completely spun and WAY over her head. Did you see her stuttering, crying and losing her mind on the Today show? And mabye there would be even more relief if the "inhabitants" of the city (the few bad apples) didn't try to shoot them when they came. It's really hard to blame anybody but the people there. Right now, the North Carolina Maine Corps have been sent to Louisiana to keep the peace and hopefully "put down the problem". And look, 99% of the rioting crowds are African American, period. Unfortunately for the majority of them, they are stuck there with the violent, psycho African Americans because their poor economic status made it so they were unable to leave the city. Me taking notice of the problem doesn't make me a racist if it is fact. Trust me, my favorite author is Richard Write and I've grown up in awe of the Delta Blues musicians like Muddy Waters and Robert Johnson. I also head a doctor saying that a lot of the unrest could easily be a lot of drug addicts freaking out and being paranoid as they come down. Sounds right to me. —justinbaily21 |

Friday, September 2, 2005 at 12:29 PM Edited Friday, September 2, 2005 at 12:37 PM In response to justinbaily21's remark about the rioting and "the violent, psycho African Americans": If 99% of the population (in the areas affected by Katrina) is African American, one would expect that 99% of the people engaging in unlawful behavior would also be African American. I live in a town that is 95% Latino, and consequently, 95% of the crimes committed around here are perpetrated by Latinos. Also - The governor of Louisiana is "spun WAY over her head" because it took a matter of days for our federal government to send aid to the Gulf Coast. The chaos taking place in the wake of the hurricane is the fault of the federal government. The path of Katrina was well known. She was a Category 5 on Sunday, and was predicted to make landfall with sustained winds of over 145mph. The government was well aware that the levee system would be unable to withstand the effects of any storm with winds over 130mph, and yet no preemptive aid was given. Governor Blanco, whom you have labeled incompetent, applied to the Fed for something like $18 million to repair the levees (LONG before Katrina popped up on the radar). She made it perfectly clear that the levee system was deteriorating and completely inadequate. She was awarded $6 million. This is not her fault. She has done an amazing job dealing with the limited resources she has been awarded. —NYBret |

Friday, September 2, 2005 at 3:02 PM Look, blacks and latinos commit a dispraportianate amout of crime, pure and simple. It is an unfortunate effect of being born into poverty. What I take offense to is the rape, looting (not of resources like food and water, but of drugstores and electroincs) and the sniping of resue workers causing the unnecesary sacrificing of innocents caught in the middle of a catastrophe. Govenor Balls is doing a pisspoor job of running her state right now and is causing the deaths of hundreds of her own citizens by not REQUESTING THE IMMEDIATE HELP OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OR A STATE OF MARSHAL LAW. She is a stuttering, incoherent mess and there is a law in place that the federal government cannot "interfere" with the affairs of the state in the case of an emergency until the govenor of that state requests its aid. It's a states' rights issue that people aren't hearing about. People are so quick to blame the federal government, but in reality this woman is crying and saying that she doesn't know what day it is or if she has or has not asked for assistance from the federal governemt yet on the Today show. —justinbaily21 |

Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 1:04 PM I disagree that this is bigger than 9/11. There is more damage yes. More people were effected yes. But its a natural disaster that they prepared for as best they could by evacuation and safehousing people in the dome. It seems the smallest amount of people possible were hurt. Lots were hurt and killed which sucks. But if it had happened like a blitzkrieg attack the way 9/11 did, it would have been much worse. Im not trying to minimize the magnitude of the new orleans situation, im just saying 9/11 was much worse because of the effect it had on society and our views of the world and now this damn Iraq war. —AbsolutCarib |

Sunday, September 4, 2005 at 5:56 PM No-one cares because no white people live in New Orleans since Trent Reznor moved out and Harry Connick Jr went on a permanent world tour. They're all black or hispanic or something else. It's a den of iniquity! The handful of wealthy whites living in the area were evacuated in less than a day. Meanwhile black families are stranded, watching the rotting bodies of their families and neighbours float by. Nobody cares because they're poor and black. The government runs everything and looks after everyone, that's why everyone has to pay tax... right? But when its disaster time everyone has to micromanage their finances, giving money to charities. Where does all the tax money go when it rains? Wouldn't it be sweet if people took matters into their own hands all the time? Just ignore the government. Placebo, charity, oh no. This is much bigger than "september 11", everything is. An entire city getting wiped out. But it doesn't threaten white people, and especially not the bourgeois, so who gives a fuck. 9/11 was a bourgeois tragedy. Last year there was a hurricane disaster in Haiti. Thousands and thousands died. But who gives a fuck. They're even poorer than those in New Orleans. And its not like Haiti is right next to the USA, is it. And there was this tsunami back at the turn of the year, I don't know if it made the news in the USA, only a handful of white Usans were affected, but 500,000 people died, and 20 million were left destitute. Silly asians. China just evacuated a million people to save them from a typhoon. The evil reds, huh? If only they lived in a free democracy, then they might have drowned. And there has been a typhoon visting Japan too, but so far they haven't abandoned their poor people to it. Isn't that weird? And they're a satellite state of the USA and all! The looting. Oh my god! All those FUCKING niggers stealing wet televisions! And jewellery, because niggers love shiny shit, even when its sitting under 2 metres of silt under 5 metres of sewage water, those niggers can sense it and steal all of it! Plus the food, niggers love stealing that food and trying not to starve to death. That's why the national guard was sent in, to stop those raping murderous thieving niggers from going beserk now that they are off their gorilla leashes. Shoot the niggers, shoot them all. That is what Kanye West was upset about. Not only are all the black people dying from starvation, but now National Guardsmen have been sent in with orders to kill looters on sight. (national guardsmen = soldiers, looters = niggers) And Kanye's dad was a Black Panther, Kanye has more experience with political science than any of you fucks here and your cockslaughtering mothers. Just because he's handsome, confident and musical doesn't mean he sucks the same teat of indolent slavic repugnacious wickedness that keeps all of your tiny black hearts bleating for love in the face of genetic annihilation. —MajandraFan |

The poor didnt leave, and they weren't forced to leave because the BLACK mayor of New Orlean's didn't set it up. They had hundreds of Buses that are flooded. Why do you blame the government for the majority of the poor being black? Why do you assume the Government should find a way to make everyone safe? Its the states job to do this. The president cannot command National Guard inside the US as a police force. So stop blaming everyone else. If minorities stoped blaming everyone else for their god dam problems maybe things would be better. Monday, September 5, 2005 at 2:56 AM Diddy, Jay-Z pledge $1M to Red Cross NEW YORK (AP) — Sean "Diddy" Combs and Jay-Z have pledged $1 million to the American Red Cross to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. "When I turn on CNN, I see a lot of black people on the streets," Jay-Z said. "I know it's other people too, but those projects have been hit hard." The two rappers announced their joint donation Thursday, saying they hoped to inspire others, especially blacks, to give. "This is our community," Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter told The Associated Press by phone. "When I turn on CNN, I see a lot of black people on the streets. I know it's other people too, but those projects have been hit hard." Combs agrees. "We are all descendants from each other's families. When you hear black people say 'brothers' and 'sisters,' it's really true. These are all people that I know I'm related to somehow, some way — the human race family." Former New Orleans Mayor Marc Morial, now president of the Urban League, said Thursday that those left in the city "are people who are African-American mostly but not completely, and people who were of little or limited economic means. They are the folks, we've got to get them out of there." Jay-Z said he had put in calls to NBA star LeBron James and rapper Kanye West for donations. Also on Thursday, Celine Dion and the partners of her Las Vegas show, A New Day— companies Concerts West/AEG Live and Dragone — pledged a $1 million donation to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. —pookie |

Monday, September 5, 2005 at 9:53 AM Edited Monday, September 5, 2005 at 10:44 AM If Kanye West was white, nobody would have cared if he accused Bush. They would have probably assumed he is a democrat. My opinion of what Kanye said is this....He said it loud enough for the entire world to hear apparently, because its being talked about everywhere and now people have him to blame, because again we have to shift blame somewhere. Its happening again. Bush is being blamed and now Kanye is being blamed. Instead of shifting blame upon everybody else before the mess is even cleaned up, and we've had a chance to investigate the cause, we need to find a way to solve THIS problem first. We live in a "Shoot First, Ask Questions Later" type of society as it is. Become the solution. Its like your toilet overflowing. You buy a plunger when you first move into the house because you anticipate a disaster even before it happens. Thats a way for people to become part of the solution. Find out how we can be more prepared for these things before they even happen. Why is it that other cities didnt anticipate the danger and seriousness of this hurricane? We heard the broadcasts just like they did. Why weren't we setup, and on standby to help these people out? There should have been buses, trains, planes, ambulances, medical aid, food, water, beds, clothes, baby necessities and shit ON HAND in other states, and surrounding states ready to go out to these people. Was I, or you at home packing a box full of necessities for anybody over there last saturday, because we knew someone would need that box within the next couple of days? no. Why not? we knew a hurricane of magnitude 4 was gonna hit over there. We're all to blame. Americans STILL don't watch out for each other. After all thats gone down, we still aren't down for one another as a force, and thats sickening. Terrorist are looking at us and going, "Fools" because we stilll aren't ready, we still aren't prepared for disaster because we're to proud to accept our faults, everyone is blaming everyone else instead of rubbing our heads together to atleast get a spark going and some ideas flowing about how we can be prepared AS AMERICANS....as a force. Everybody wants to be individualized, off to themselves and minding they're own business when we ALL have real, live, and in living color enemies that want us dead. Im not gonna pacify anybody here when I say that because its true. This is an act of nature, what just happened, and we can't even be sure this wasn't GOD sending a message. We are paying for our stupidity, our laziness, our inability to form a union, and our blaming one another for the shit that happens instead of looking at a bigger picture and going, ok this is how we can be prepared, California, your in charge of so and so, Iowa, you supply this, Jersey, you give that because we knew this was gonna happen, because we anticipated the disaster beforehand, and we're going to keep paying for it with our lives if we don't wake up and come together. Im not saying what Kanye did was right or wrong, but it needed to be said anyway, whether Bush was to blame or not...especially now. I saw what I saw over there, and no one can change what I saw. I didnt believe it when I was hearing about it because I didnt want to believe it could happen, so I tuned out, but I know what I did see when I tuned in. I went to bed and woke up watching the coverage. The scenes are horrifying, heartbreaking, and unblieveable. How could those people be made to sit in those conditions for 5 days without aid? Why did they sit over there like that? Its like being buried alive. When you think about being in a grave in a box and you can't breathe, knowing your dying. The anxiety, the fear, the sickness inside. Thats what it feels like watching those people over there. Its like I can't breathe, and the anxiety its causing watching helplessely as they suffer in attics and on roofs. Dogs and cats starving because they can't get out of trees and off porches. Listening to the stories of it is enough. We need a solution before the problem it seems, because its not working the other way around.

Monday, September 5, 2005 at 7:17 PM that was a really good post MajandraFan but i had problems with some of it. i don't think black panthers were political scientists, i think they were justifiably pissed off black dudes wantin to stick it to the man. therefor i think kanye would learn to blindly hate white people, not the intricacies of political science. and even if somebody's dad was a political scientist i don't think that nescesarrily means their son is gonna know everything he does, genius skips a generation. blaming bush is fun but it dosen't solve anything, it's just passing the buck like babymomma skillfully posts. and about the shooting looters thing. is it a fact that there has there been an order to shoot to kill looters? i searched on the net but couldn't find any news article or anything that says that guardsman have been given the order to shoot to kill looters. if the guardsmen are being shot at for no reason they'll fire back in self defense of course, but i don't think they've been ordered to go down and kill people who are stealing. if anybody can find something to post about them being given the order to shoot to kill looters BESIDES from an angry black person on tv just saying it, then fine, i'll concede. —adamdontgo |

Monday, September 5, 2005 at 7:39 PM This isn't particularly racist, but it shows that the national guards are probably being told to shoot people. —mandeemoo22 |

Monday, September 5, 2005 at 8:18 PM -----"Last night at 8 p.m. they shot a kid of just 16. He was just crossing the street. They ran him over, the New Orleans police did, and then they got out of the car and shot him in the head," Batiste said.----- i don't believe it. i just plain don't believe it for a second. a 16 year old kid just calmly walks across a street and cops run him over and then shoot him in the head? the person telling that story is a lier. and even if it's true (which i doubt) it was the new orleans cops not the guardsmen. the second thing about the national guardsmen is also pretty questionable because of this sentence: ---Several residents of the impromptu shantytown recounted two horrific incidents where those charged with keeping people safe had killed them instead.--- it's only one side of the story. the family or friends of the person killed are the ones telling the story. for all we know the truth is that the guy was one of the people doing the raping, his accomplices are probably the ones recounting the story. but let's just say it's all true and the people telling the story aren't lying; the dude shouldn't have been shot, but it wasn't smart of him running up to a military truck and jumping on the windshield. some people might consider that just a TINY bit hostile and react to it. most of those guardsmen down there are FROM the south. they're not unfealing robots who just indiscrimately kill for fun. they're not even regular military! they're reservists who at the very most haven't seen more than 2 years of active duty. they're more civilian than soldier, and i am 99.9999% certain that they are not down there to kill black people who are stealing things. they will not hesitate to kill people in self defence or to kill people who are going to hurt or kill someone else, and that is being somehow morphed into killing civilians who are stealing, and killing people who are asking for help. i don't buy it for a second. —adamdontgo |

Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at 1:53 PM i thought of a way to help the hurricane victims & cash in! money could be made by selling those rubber bracelets that all the young people are a-wearin' nowadays. how about a muddy brown colored rubber bracelet with little black floating bodies with X X for eyes? for variety, maybe some bracelets could have black figures with stolen goods that say "I looted N.O.". or how about a pac man like bracelet but instead of pac man, it's this red colored hurricane symbol and it's chasing a bunch of black figures. or how about brown bracelets with white figures in blue or camo outfits pointing guns at the black figures carrying TV's that says "PEACE" or "HOPE"? those would go $4-$5 a pop. then there is the entire front/back t-shirt aspect of it... "i may have lost my cardboard box... ...but i got 5 new laptops!" "i survived hurricane katrina... ...but was gang raped by a looting band of asians & jews." "hurricane katrina... ...i can't find my babymomma" the possibilities are endless. who wants in? —plurry |
