Meh.
It was a fairly clinical show. Not a whole lot of humor.

Drew seems too sped up when Adam isn't on because he's anxious to control the direction of the show. He's definitely more suited to the beta dog role (of which he is also a pack animal.)

yeah drew is a completely different person without adam on the show. i imagine it's the same when drew's old lady leaves the house for market

This show proved that Drew hosting by himself would suck. Maybe he was explaining for Gavin, but I felt like we got every single explanation this time, stuff like "events that are traumatizing in childhood become attracting in adulthood" that we hear every now and then, but never for an entire show.

I agree with Mahalo. It was informational (unless you listen to every show in which case you have the lowdown on most of Drew's opinions), it wasn't a terribly entertaining show. These no-adam shows are unpartitioned by adam's side thoughts and rants, which I miss dearly.

Also, in the last show or two Drew's been talking up stuff about how the Y chromosome is deteriorating and that the female orgasm is dictated by genetics. I think we need to be careful of these preliminary studies and treat them as evidence for such theories but not the final word. In some ways, genetics has become this centuries' "bad blood," which is to say that we chalk up a LOT of human behavior to our genetic code, supposedly fixable by gene thereapy, etc; whereas 150 years ago we thought illness (physical and mental) was merely a symptom of Bad Blood. But the field of genetics is obviously much more rooted in science, but still widely misunderstood, and studies are prone to error and misinterpretation.

Hell, they will probably find that the female orgasm is actually a virus. Some women never catch it, some get over it, and for others it is chronic.

There have also been indications that mental illness is viral (at least some forms, like schizophrenia) and many other biological illnesses might be viral in nature (like cancer and heart disease). The genetic component still can hold some weight...just as people can be immune, some could be genetically prone to a certain virus.

the only funny parts were andersons drops. he needs to do ALOT more of em with adam gone. maybe throw a few TOO late rants in there when drews trying to talk. virtual adam....
