Things have changed. He said "pissed off" which they used to bleep. I remember when Politically Incorrect was on Comedy Central you could say "asshole" but now they bleep "a-hole." But you can say "tits" even on network TV now and that was one of George Carlin's original 7 words you can't say on TV. What lunatic is deciding all this bullshit? Must be either Bush or Jerry Falwell.

The rules for cable TV are totally different than a federally licenced broadcast radio station. It's basically up to the network to decide how they want to play with the target audience and sponsors. Case in point - Comedy Central will play unedited stuff like the Southpark episode where they said shit 100 times, or movies with T & A. You're just not going to see spots for Sunny-D and fruit roll-ups during that show. They also (obviously) have to run the "viewer discretion" disclaimer beforehand.

..One should check out some of the new shows on FX, i.e, "OVER THERE", "RESCUE ME", etc. Shit, god damn, etc are every other word in the script, and it is a basic cable channel.
It's all about that "safe harbor" time after 10pm. Comedy Central is at the mercy of it's advertisers trying to get this show off the ground, and that will be it's demise. Pussies.

brett + jar are correct

i remember adam once saying that the censor woman that let the 100x shit ep of south park on was the same person who did the man show, and he would always give her a hard time about that whenever she tried to rein them in

I have a feeling they bleep things more according to time of day. Remember when South Park said shit over 100 times on the show? Just last week the Daily Show played Robert Novak saying "bullshit" in its later airings. I get the east coast feed at my house, but I didn't bother to watch the late night repeat.

I always think it's funny when they bleep stuff anyway--it just calls more attention to the word. "What did they just bleep? "

I don't know if anyone's noticed that in the past couple of years or so, mostly in network TV when they're replaying a movie or something like that, they'll bleep out the word "Jesus" if it's a reaction to something scary or unbelievable. I wonder if "jeez" will go next.

And half the time you know perfectly well what they said anyway.

I suspect that Adam's show is more heavily bleeped than some other shows since they plan on rerunning it during the day. Also, I'm sure they know Adam is an envelope pusher (who tends to forget the rules), and therefore they have more censor oversight on him.

In any case, this doesn't help:

don't all radio have the same rules with this shit? because in the mornings here they can say tits but you can't say tits on loveline for whatever reason. jesus christ, what kind of world do we live in? you're allowed to say "dicksucker" but can't say "cocksucker." makes sense

But "a-hole?" That is the whole point of saying "a-hole" instead of the real thing and then they still bleep it. And last night Adam said "blow me" and they bleeped that too. Neither are even profanities!
