Rob Schneider the new Adam?

So, last night I couldn't understand why Drew was kissing Rob Schneider's ass so bad, telling him how great he was when he was just sucking. Then Rob made some throwaway comment like, "If I end up hosting this show permanently..." and Drew said, "What do you mean, IF?" and I lost it! Anyone else catch that?

First, Rob Schneider is just not funny. He's somehow managed to carve out a career on a minimal amount of talent (last night he did about 20 minutes worth of impressions of people 99% of the audience is too young to have heard of).

Plus, he's advising callers to stop taking birth control pills and "let their bodies detox." When the F did he get a medical degree? You could just hear Drew cringing! Plus, the last thing we need is for the few callers responsible enough to take birth control STOPPING it. Thank you very much. I think we all know what Adam would have to say about that!

And speaking of Adam, something was up with him leaving Drew alone with Rob. It was almost like he knew Rob was auditioning to replace him. He *never* does that, unless it's with someone like DAG.

Please God, please God, don't let it be Rob Schneider!!!

I kinda liked Rob. Some of his moments tho made me reel. They made me real. I hope i didnt type that outloud.

Look. It isnt going to be easy. We are gonna see alot of talent that is EITHER funny, OR that offers intelligent and interesting advice.

Adam Corolla has both + TONS of expert knowledge on hundreds of things ranging from construction to cars to comedy to California geography to many more things.

Damn I wish Adam was staying.

After listening to robs show and then listening to last nights, it shows that rob is nowhere close to Adam.

Drew ALWAYS suck major ass when Adam's gone or even late. No matter who is or isn't on he makes remarks about how much better it is without Adam, how many calls they were able to take without Adam, how much more funny/smart/easy to get along with other people are without Adam.

Nobody else noticed that before? It's not just Rob, he's been doing that since I started listening. I think he thinks he's being funny but it took me a long time to get used to it.

I didn't think Rob was terrible. He did a lot of things that made me cringe, but then, Adam does a lot of stuff I hate, too. I think he would settle in, stop with the holistic advice, and be a decent host.

I think he means it, at least to a degree. He's always seemed like he resented Loveline being labeled as "entertainment" when he always wanted it to be an advice show. So it kinda makes sense that he'd have some misgivings toward the man in charge of the entertainment side of things.

Though to be fair, Adam was quite effusive in his praise for Dr. Spaz when he was one the show the last couple of times. Saying that he knows more than Drew and Drew need not come back and so on. They both kind of take passive-aggressive shots at the other ("who needs 'em anyway" stuff) and it seems like the thing one does when one feels a little hurt at being left behind while their "partner" is out living a separate life.

Despite this, I also often hear them both say they miss the other. He didn't the other night, but Drew usually requests cyber Adam when he's gone and Adam will ask for the Drew Boogie.

All I notice is that Drew goes nuts when Adam's not around.
He sounds like he's a kid in a candy store on a load of amphetamines.

He steps all over the subbing cohost's jokes.

There is a definitely a different vibe from Drew when Adam is not there. Adam being there is like a human Valium because Drew is much more calm. I think it has something do with the fact that Adam carries the show and Drew can relax.

I turned on the show for like 10 minutes and then turned it off. I'm sorry but it wasn't loveline. Maybe i could get used to it, but its gonna be pretty damn hard to get over adam leaving. I'm gonna have to start downloading backwards all the episodes on the hub.

I think Chris Titus would make the best replacement. To quote a cliche, "he keeps it real" in a most funny and honest way, and he seems to have a more accurate instinctive insight into the human condition than the other wannabes.

I like Titus as a guest host. I also like Art Alexakis very much, but he doesn't have the humor that Titus would bring.

Jay Mohr - any thoughts?

So far, I was not impressed with Rob or Ralph. I couldn't even listen for the whole show. I don't know how Jay Mohr would do. It's not enough for someone to be funny or clever. They have to be able to function within a partnership dynamic with Drew AND they have to be able to give insightful advice. Rob's advice was often in direct conflict with what Drew or any sane medical authority would advise. I'm really surprised that Drew let all of Rob's ridiculous suggestions slide by without protest.

And I hate to say it, but Drew gets a little full of himself when he is in the driver's seat and tends to make an ass of himself when drunk with power. So far, the shows without Adam have not been able to hold my attention for longer than 15 minutes. Fifteen painful minutes. Oh well, it looks as though I may be getting more sleep at night.

it would be great if ralph can impersonate adam through the whole entire show, he does a good arnold imitation. but i cant belive drew was talking all the crap about adam " i feel like i saw the light" and making fun of the "library" story and how he rants on issues what a trader.

While not a fan of Schneider, I would certainly vote for his "Animal" co-star Colleen Haskell.

Yeah, so I haven't updated my celebrity crushes in a while. Eat me.

Or for that matter learned the basics of html it would seem. Drat.

I thought it was really funny when the girl called up and started talking all about sucking toes. Then Drew said it was time for break. So Rob said, "Oh thank god"

But yeah, the rest had quite a few cringe moments.

Pookie, you crack me up.
