I recorded it.
I don't know how to do the whole Bit Torrent thing so, if someone out there can host/post it...let me know. I'll send you the mp3.

(I only missed the first 4 seconds "Hey, I got Adam Corolla on the phone...how ya doing Adam...")

Thats fine man.
They didnt really get into it until a few a minute or so after howard welcomed Adam. Good job recording it. I wanted to as well but am unable.

Anyway, i think this interview re-iterated alot of points that a few people in this forum have mentioned time and time again.

1. Adam wont be putting much effort what so ever into Too Late. We dont need to worry that it will be another factor in keeping Adam from returning to Loveline.

2. NOTHING has been signed or set in stone WHAT SO EVER, about Adam taking over the morning slot for Howard. Adam made it sound like even verbal agreements are iffy at this point, because as Adam put it, no one seems to know when Howard is ACTUALLY going to leave.
Also, Adam mentioned that he really wished it was another year before he had to take over.

Basically, Adam doesnt sound very amped up to take over for Howard, and even less for the Too Late.

Adam Carolla Calls In, Confirms Rumors. 08/04/05. 8:40am
Howard had Adam Carolla on the phone after the break. He said whenever he wants to find out what Adam is up to, he always calls Jimmy Kimmel instead of Adam himself. Adam told him to call him sometimes because he doesn't type very well and can't e-mail anyone. He said that it's best that he doesn't type because it keeps him from sending out letters that he might regret later. Howard said his father told him to take some typing classes when he was in school because he could use it some day. Adam said his father had him take ceramic classes instead of typing.

Howard asked Adam if it's true that he's going to be taking over for him in some markets out on the west coast. Adam said ''tentatively'' that sounds correct. He said he hasn't signed anything yet though. He's in the middle of doing some other stuff right now and he would die if he started now. Adam's TV show ''Too Late with Adam Carolla'' starts on Comedy Central next Monday. He's also got some other shows coming up on TLC and some other stuff. Adam said he's working on a show where he remodels houses and sells them to see if he can make a profit at the end. The first house he worked on was the one he grew up in. Howard said that Adam once told him that he'd have to get paid really big money to wake up in the morning so he must be getting paid a mother load of money to take over for him. Gary heard that Adam turned down a morning show about a year and a half ago. Adam didn't know anything about Howard leaving in September and said that he's heard that they want him to stay through his whole contract. Howard said that's not what he's heard. He thinks they want him out by September. Adam said as long as the show doesn't turn into a 4 hour commercial for satellite radio, they want him to stay until December. Howard didn't sound too happy about that because he wants out already.

Adam said he has this daily show that he'll be doing for Comedy Central so he doesn't want to start on a morning radio show right away. Adam said he wants to roll into work at about noon at this new job and he's not looking to wake up extra early to do the morning radio show yet. The new Comedy Central Show is starting on Monday and it'll be on Monday through Thursday. He said he was talking about doing the morning radio show and he was being told he'd have to show up for work at 5 in the morning. He said he was hoping to show up at 5:59 to start his 6:00 show though. He's got so many other things going on that he doesn't mind if he doesn't start that show until 2006. He's been told that there is no replacement for Howard Stern so he's ready to just go in there and not even try. Howard wished him luck with everything he does and he knows that he'll put a minimal effort into it all and still do okay.

Howard asked Adam what Jimmy Kimmel thinks about him going up against his TV show on ABC. Adam said Jimmy and he are good friend and they're happy for each other no matter what they do. Howard talked a little more about the rumors about Adam replacing him and Adam reminded him that he hasn't signed anything yet. Adam also said that he was told not to talk about it so this may mean the end of the whole idea. The two of them spent a little time talking about David Lee Roth and the rumors that he'll be replacing Howard in New York City. Adam said he thinks the guy is entertaining but he's not sure what it'll be like 8 months down the road. Howard let Adam go a short time later. He went to break so they could get to Stump The Booey.

I wish Adam would care more about "Too Late." I think it could be a really great show. He was always on ball on Loveline the TV show and The Man Show, and I think a show where he decides the format could be really good. His man on the street stuff is always hilarious. His TLC show might end up being the surprise hit out of all his projects.

No matter what, it's gonna be an interesting year.

Heh, I tuned into this completely by accident. (I turned on the radio this morning and I'd happened to have left it on the local Stern affiliate). First words I heard were Howard saying "Adam Carolla". I was all ears.

I am wondering what angle he is going to take with the flipping show, there are already two on the air. I would like him to concentrate on all the bad things that can go wrong with a remodel. Ranchero music everyday at 5am, Guatamealan workers not getting along with the El Salvador workers, Building inspectors reameaning homeowners, scumbag roofers hittng on 14 year old neighborhood girls. Ya know expose the seemy underbelly!

Since ive never seen the phrase in writing...I always thought it was "seedy underbelly". And my back up was "seething underbelly".

I've not heard of a "seemy underbelly".

Im telling you, these kids have gone too far.

I can't stand the Stern show. That horrible zoo with all those goons pitching their 2¢ in on every lame topic. Every stunt and conversation on that show makes me want to put a railroad spike in ear canal.

You've gotta love the funk.

Adam seems to have a minimal passion about a lot of things, so him being a bit wishy-washy about the details of taking over for Stern doesn't surprise me. But I'd probably say for sure no matter what else Adam does, if he does a morning radio show he will no longer do Loveline.

Ah stern is ok by me. It's just a bunch of guys (and Robin, whose pseudo-intellectualism bugs the shit out of me) shooting the breeze about whatever's going on in the world. The stuff with strippers, porn stars and retards is kind of boring, but overall it's a lot of fun.

Kind of funny. I don't usually listen to Stern anymore, but my local am show changed to a couple of losers, so I switched over and heard that hick guy playing the drums. He's got some chops. As soon as he was done I turned it off and, of course, missed the best part of the show. Go figure.

"him being a bit wishy-washy about the details of taking over for Stern doesn't surprise me."---clodhopper about Adam.

I gotta tell ya, this morning Adam sounded like the voice of reason. He didnt really even crack many jokes. As far as being wishy washy, the Stern camp and Sirius are the ones that sounded wishy washy. When asked about when, how and if Adam will be taking the morning slot, Adam sounded like........"well, what the heck is going on over there? Im waiting for you guys to make a decision about when you're leaving!?>?"

Also it sounded like the whole crew really respect Adam. They listened to everything he told them to do.

Ive really been hard on Howard sometimes. Sometimes he is just so inhuman. But I too have been listening to that group during many mornings for years. I think Howard can be sweet and funny and the whole crew is a riot sometimes. Sometimes he just doesnt have a stitch of common human decency.

Adam seems to have a minimal passion about a lot of things... — clodhopper

I think this is the case so that when things fail, he can say, "well, I didn't really care anyway." I don't buy it though, he cares but his low self-esteem and ego get in the way of admitting it. It's much cooler to pretend you don't care about things (like replacing Kilborn, I really doubt he was a finalist for that and "turned them down.")

"Adam sounded like........"well, what the heck is going on over there? I'm waiting for you guys to make a decision about when you're leaving!?>?"

They are under contract until late December. They cant just "decide" to leave early. Infinity could give them the boot before then but Howard and co have no say in the matter. And according to Adam, Infinity is content to let Howard work for the remainder of his contract. Adam didn't sound eager for the job, he said he would rather wit a year to take over.

Adam is obviously leaving. They have guest hosts auditioning for his spot. Rob Schneider made a comment last night where he said, "If I do end up as the permanent co-host" (paraphrased).

speaking of the TLC show, wtf is that going to be about? when i first heard the idea i figured it was like osbournes-type reality show where they follow his daily activity on the jobsite, now i have no idea, and suddenly i stopped caring in the middle of this sentence. so don't answer it

Just for the sake of posting, here is the story, from AllAccess.com (probably the most important radio industry website out there):

ADAM CAROLLA confirmed, sort of, that he'll replace HOWARD STERN in LOS ANGELES, SAN FRANCISCO, SAN DIEGO, and one other market on STERN's show this morning. CAROLLA responded to STERN's statement that ADAM will be replacing him by saying "tentatively, that sounds about right ... I haven't signed any paperwork, you know, it's not a done deal." CAROLLA said that he has not been approached to start earlier than JANUARY 1, saying "I would die if I started now," considering that he also has a daily COMEDY CENTRAL show and weekly TLC show on his plate.

CAROLLA basically agreed with STERN's characterization of him as not being a morning person, suggesting he could even just replay the 9a hour at 6a to allow him to come in later. "I'm finishing 'LOVELINE' and moving to morning radio," said CAROLLA, not denying producer GARY DELL'ABATE's claim that he and "LOVELINE" co-host DR. DREW PINSKY had been offered the morning slot at the old WHFS/WASHINGTON a year ago and turned it down at the last minute.

Noyce, bless your pointy-headed little head for taking the time and effort to put this
up for us.

Second miracle, RS was on "Happy Hour" when i went to download it.

Third miracle, the recording is crystal clear and the topic is definitely a "keeper".

Nice work, man, many thanks.
