Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 7:35 AM Creating a highly read and replied to post is by no means an easy task so to acknowledge the acomplishments of the great threads in this forum at the moment i present this weeks most popular thread awards. 1st place Congrats go out to Lefty for starting a remarkable thread about, TPAM aka the person above me. Started on May 10 of 2005 this post has had over 900 replies and really stood the test of time week by week as old post fall back Leftys masterpiece has remained atop the list. 2nd Place Everyone seems to be into music so naturaly Polar Bear cashed in with his thread titled "what music are you into?". this one has stir up over 270 replies, not all about music but hey what thread ever stays on topic, especialy since this post is from over a month ago. Conrats Polar Bear and keep up the good work. 3rd Place With Adams rants being a key part of any loveline broadcast its no wonder that xafan's combination of politics and adams rant became such a popular thread. Although xafan is a rather quiet member of the forum their post stired up over 230 post in a week and had the most new post in the forum with 61. This could be the future of long term threads such as TPAM, so once again great job xafan. Runner up Revived Funny Pictures Thread by TrinsTwin18 —main man DAG |

Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 8:12 AM Creating a highly read and replied to post is by no means an easy task High readership and reply shouldn't be the goal of posting to any forum unless you are a troll. In Loveline language, that's: "Look at me!" If threads are to be judged, they should be judged by quality, on-topicness, informativeness, and level of entropy (less is better). The threads you mentioned are among the lowest quality threads in recent history and this commmunity would be a better place without such threads. —Full Meat |

Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 8:36 AM Look you A-holes. There neednt be any bashing of the hi end threads. Ive worked long and hard on the threads ive created. Testing, Re- Testing, analyzing, agonyzing over what would be the most marketable thread name, what would be the most efficient opening statement. If there was a way i could pay for advertising in my threads i would. I dont care. Hell ive even started another, secret forum, where i run these tests in, on bots. So when someone says "Creating a highly read and replied to post is by no means an easy task" Please dont argue. —AbsolutCarib |

Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 9:15 AM And what does it say about us that a thread like TPAM. A game where you mention the person above you, has hit 900 results. I think in the future this website will be turned into mental institution and most of us wont even notice the differnce. —AbsolutCarib |

Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 9:50 AM Really? Because each time miserable reality popped that thread back up to the top of the list, and I unfortunately checked in on it, to see if I was going crazy, there were nothing but gleeful posts like... "TPAM is a weirdo" which would usually garner about 5 ROFLMAO'S. By the way lets hope each of the posts WAS TPAM related. Otherwise we are even stupider than I had thought, for hanging out to chat in a thread that takes 5 minutes to load becuase of colossal post count. We should make a thread called "Whats your favorite color" , stay STRICTLY on topic throughout the entire thread, and try to get the post count to 1 billion. I think it would be interesting conversation.

Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 10:19 AM As a reference point on how far the forums have degraded in this regard, recall that just a few short months ago, Theo was being attacked for starting numerous silly off-topic threads. Now this behavior is much more the norm. I recall a few people making the point that this drop in forum quality coincides with TLC popularity increasing from shoutouts and Narren films. At the time, I thought it was a fair point but now I'm seeing that the people that spew the highest volume of low-quality posts aren't newcomers. Other observations:

Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 11:41 AM Theo was being attacked for starting numerous silly off-topic threads. No. He wasn't 'attacked' because his threads were off-topic. It was his tard-o threads dedicated to begging for money or asking people to rate his popularity that opened him up to (completely deserved) scorn and ridicule. —Beat It! |

Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 2:00 PM Edited Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at 2:01 PM Are you sure? I'm not so sure they "cared" about it more, it just didn't really happen so no one said anything about it since it didn't exist so much. All of the speaking up about it has been pretty recent to my recollection. I think technically people care more about it now. —Dark Laith |
