I found the tone in the article a little disconcerting, like Drew was some kind of potty-mouth pervert.

Best quote:

Asked what will be different about his TV show vs. his radio show, Pinsky smiles and says, "Well, there's no Adam Carolla now, thank God."

That's an interesting look at Drew's new show. . . but damn does the writing in the article BLOW! It's all gimmicky and manic and *ugh*.

ETA: Make up your mind, William Booth: Are you using YM/Maxim writing b/c you think that's what the kids are used to, or mocking it in some sort of extended pointless condescending joke?

If you are of the preteen female persuasion, you may recognize the doc from his 2004 role (playing himself) in "New York Minute," the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen vanity flick.

Wait a second, playing himself? I thought he was just "the dad". Is this an error on the author's part, or was he actually supposed to be an alternate Dr. Drew with twin daughters?

EDIT: Oh, and

"Strictly Sex" is taping on a recent Saturday afternoon before a live studio audience, a hundred chair-warmers wrangled into the Burbank sound stage.

Ha ha, I hope he points out to Adam that it was taped in Rapebank.

Mirror, Mirror Dr. Drew. Someone needs to photoshop him with a goatee.

I'll bet if someone calls in and mentions him saying "Well, there's no Adam Carolla now, thank God.", he'll say "I honestly dont remember saying that."

Laith, you rock with photoshop! Much better than mine, I’m still learning. Here’s mine anyway…

If I knew I could get through and ask about the quote, I'd try staying up and calling for the first time ever.

And why bring up that the TV show was cancelled? Hasn't it been over for at least 5 years?

And since the article was in the Post, there should have been some mention of the show's travails in the DC market.

Heh, thanks. Personally I think yours is more realistic (and funnier besides), since yours looks to be cut out from a photograph. (I just used the paintbrush for mine.)

Laith's Drew looks kind of like Chuck Norris.

Yeah, the two pictures show Drew in very different lights.

The first in a tough cop way, like Chuck Norris. You can picture Drew breaking down the door at a bar, badge attached to belt, yelling "Freeze!", then chasing someone out the back door.

The second makes me think of Drew as an Arab terrorist. Possibly the guy being chased by Officer Drew.

Thanks for the link - I assume everyone here is equally outraged at the horrible writing in this article... I mean, the man used the word "preggers" for great-magnet sakes.

Freaky...

Hopefully I'm right about Drew never coming to the site. I can only imagine how uncomfortable these pictures would make him. heh.

That one's a little harder. Drew's chin is shaped differently than Spock's there, since Drew is smiling and Spock is not (speaking of which, I'm certainly no Star Trek fan, so I guess I wouldn't know, but since when did Spock have a beard?) so shaping that exact beard to Drew's chin is difficult. But I tried anyway...

Mirror, Mirror Spock is from an alternate universe. I guess most people missed the joke I made about alternate Dr. Drew.

That beard looks much better.

Yes, and he's got Adam Carolla's "barely breathing" libido. None more passion!

If we were Trekkies, I guess it would be.

EDIT: Well, after rereading the thread I can see why he brought it up. My little quip about Drew possibly being an alternate Drew with twin daughters.

It's not bizarro Dr. Drew. Drew would just be more agressive and wear something like this.

Hot links are best with mustard and a little relish.

In that pic Lefty posted, Drew looks a little like Tony Robbins.

Innnnteresting... a way to circumvent anti-hotlinking. I will transcribe this into my all-purpose-reference text file!
