Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 9:18 PM From the official synopsis of the plot: ". . .on a shopping trip together the day before their paths diverge, the friends find a pair of thrift-shop jeans that amazingly fits and flatters each one of them perfectly, even though they are four young women of very different shapes and sizes. It seems these pants are meant for sharing and that gives Carmen, Bridget, Lena and Tibby a wonderful idea. They decide to use the pants as a way of keeping in touch during the months ahead, each one wearing them for a week to see what luck they bring before mailing them on to the next." I am going to go ahead and predict, based solely on that excerpt, that this will be a steaming pile of crap. Just a hunch. —shakrat |

Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 9:31 PM I disagree. I'm pretty sure I read one of those books and really liked it. Based on the title, it sounds like crap, but I think you'll be surprised. I really want to see it. —mandeemoo22 |

Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 9:31 PM Edited Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 9:34 PM A steaming pile of crap that a whole lot of women and girls are going to see. Then it will go and live on Lifetime for the next 20 years. The only reason I know it exists is because my wife watches Gilmore Girls (and I watch because the Mom is freaking hot) but the daughter is one of the Sisterhood, and if I am not mistaken the girl from Joan of Arcadia. C'mon...it is a movie about a magic pair of pants. Magic pants that make a 'fat'* ass look thin? I feel sorry for all the guys that get dragged to this movie this weekend when they would much rather be seeing Cinderella Man. The only way to seek revenge...they have to sneak into The Longest Yard with their dates for revenge. *Of course the fat ass will not be actually fat...that would just not look right, it will be a 'movie' fat ass...not Roseanne fat. Mandeemoo...I would not doubt the books are good, but we are talking about the movie. It will surely suck Donkey sac. I see from IMDB that Pedro (Efren Ramirez) is in Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Vote Pedro! —Laxdude |

Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 9:32 PM Of any couple seen viewing this movie, it is a virtual guarantee that the chick gives really good head. Any male seen viewing this movie unaccompanied by a female (who gives really good head; see above) is gay. —Dusty TheHick |

Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 9:34 PM Okay, I'll agree with that (about the gay part). It is probably a chick flick/ gay dude's movie, but that doesn't mean its a steaming pile of crap. Just because there aren't ninjas or special effects or whatever the fuck you people like doesn't mean that a movie sucks. I think it'll be a sad movie too, which I love. —mandeemoo22 |

Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 9:47 PM Awww, don't be sad Mandeemoo. I am sure the fact that the show has only been advertised on the WB in no way reflects the fact that even the studio knows no one wants to see it. If you like the books - the movie will never hold a candle. It isn't the fact that it will be Ninja free (I do not think I have ever seen a good Ninja movie...well, that didn't star a pack of Turtles...possibly mutant and/or teenage) it is just that the movie looks so....crappy. Like the female equivalent to a Steven Segal movie...sometimes you can just tell. The ads make it look like a lifetime or Oprah made for TV movie. Take Mean Girls. One would assume that it is a chick movie. Staring a popular (?) teen poptart, set in high school, about evil cliques and an 'ugly' duckling trying to fit in. Yet it was a good and damn funny movie. It is not that all chick flicks are bad. I would rather see a good one than almost any action movie. —Laxdude |

Friday, June 3, 2005 at 9:02 PM Saw "Sith" tonight with the girls. What I expected, but the best of the last 3. They can go with their mother to see Pants. No thanks. Maybe Madagascar next weekend. And I liked Mean Girls, too. Lindsay was hot before she got way too thin. —oh-for |

Friday, June 3, 2005 at 10:35 PM You know, when I hear "four teenage girls find a magical pair of pants," I immediately start thinking about porn. I would like the works of Daniel Pinkwater to find their way to the screen. I think Robert Rodriguez would have a good time with, say, The Snarkout Boys and the Avocado of Death. —Dubious Merit |
