Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 12:18 AM Hey, this is really cool for me. I've been very, very eager to read his book & I'm utterly broke at the moment. But tomorrow I'm getting my first check from the new job and I can float $1.99!! And I would like to think that Dr.Drew is more eager to get his word out and to get people who admire him to read his book then he is to chase a nickel over this book. So I'm hoping he'll appreciate that we're buying it. Besides, I imagine it will be deserving of a good review on my part once I have it! —cemetrygatecrasher |

Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 2:05 AM Edited Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 2:07 AM Grocery store deli. Hence the corroded soul. A vegetarian working in a deli doesn't exactly square up, and as lame as it may sound to non-veggies--I get a bit misty eyed while slicing meats and thinking about it. I can't help but feel that I'm completely comprimsing (forgive that spelling, it's five am) myself. Thanks for the congrats, though! It's a small check, only two days. And I have this little thing of spending my first check (blowing it really) on stupid shit. I'm thinking either going to see Episode 3, or buying With Teeth (NIN). I'll probably go with the NIN album as this is the first time I haven't bought one of his releases the day it came out and I feel like a bad fan *slaps own hand*.

Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 2:15 AM It's funny you should mention the "vegetarian working in a deli" thing... I just had this conversation with my friend Rob, the bassist in my band. He's a strict vegan, and he just got a job at Subway. He says it's bit awkward and somewhat uncomfortable (handling so much meat), but he likes his coworkers, and the pay is good, so he's planning on staying with it. Hey, good luck. And enjoy that NIN album (just don't tell jjgold). :) —NYBret |

Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 2:18 AM Well at least I don't feel so alone now. I kept going over Tyler Durden saying "We work jobs we hate to buy shit we don't need." And it made me a bit sad as I thought of the money I shelled out for my Fight Club VHS, Special Edition DVD, book, badges, jacket patch, & poster. *sigh* Fuck jjgold and the horse he rode in on. Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 7:45 AM I have had several requests for my presence either on TLC or on the hub. I am back, arrived in the states late Tuesday night. HORRIBLE thing happened though... somewhere between Charles DeGaulle airport in France and Dulles airport in VA, we lost the digital camera with about 90% of our pictures on it... i had taken over 1,000. Doesn't look like we'll be getting it back. I DO, however, have two pictures at the moment that I had sent to myself when I was on the cruise. My mom had a small digital camera with a few pictures on, but I don't have them on here yet. Anyways, here's the two I have. I'm on mediterranean time still so I dunno when i'll be back to my abnormal sleep schedule, but well see. Dedicated to Plurry: "Klonopin anyone?"
I don't fly well... so I literally knocked myself out with Klonopin. YEAH! This is me at 38,000 feet in the air attempting to wake up. I don't remember this being taken. ha

Thursday, June 2, 2005 at 5:18 PM Actually, I've already heard With Teeth, since the whole thing is streaming at myspace. I think it's far from bland or mediocre. I don't think it's Trent's best work or anything, by far. The spoken word is a bit too overdone, & it's far too short & 'radio' for my tastes, but I still think it stands up well. Then again, I'm pretty biased. I love everything he puts out. Not only that, but I was really, really, really, really down the first time I decided to hear the album--and somehow everything he was saying seemed to fit into the way I was feeling at that moment. It was uncanny. —cemetrygatecrasher |

He wasn't offering to SELL you the book for that price, cheapskate. He was telling you where he SAW it for that price. He didn't guarantee that it could still be found for that price once you found it. Basically what I'm saying is that he's telling us about it as a favor, and you're giving him hell for it.
